I'm not one to jump on the viral trends. But here it is my own twist on the dot cake. It's a chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate ganache covered in vanilla buttercream and lots of dots!

This past week pushed me in a different lane, too. To expand capabilities on the ability to ship cupcakes. I did it on another time it was an epic fail.

I told the customer that it was going to expensive to ship and that I made no promises of successful arrival. This time, it all worked out. It wasn't perfect. Some tipped over and got squished but edible.

But time I tried a bit of a different approach. More packaging to keep the cold in until arrival.
It worked, and it was successful. It was expensive but successful. It was thrilling for everyone.

When someone says it's just a cake, how can you justify charging that?

Let me tell you the math that it took to make the cake of the correct quantity. Multiplying a simple recipe into a full sheet cake size not once but twice.
The cost of all the ingredients, the planning of making a template. Creating a custom letter for the cake. Figuring it out every step of the way. Making enough buttercream to cover it all. Custom blended color created, too.
Finding a cake box big enough to hold the cake. A sheet of plywood cut special to support the weight and size of such a cake.
Then, creating and putting it all together for the special event. Delivered to the customers venue.

What magic when it all works out!

I'm beyond thrilled how it turned out for the graduation from Yale!
