On the quest for the perfect chocolate cake recipe. 🍫🧁

I’ve officially tested 4 different chocolate cupcake recipes… and honestly, none of them have been the one for me yet. Meanwhile, Andrew took two batches to work and his coworkers devoured them, so maybe I’m just my own toughest critic. 😂

I still have a few more recipes I want to try, and I’m actually having so much fun with the process. I want every flavor on my menu to be something people truly love and come back for.

That’s where the fun part comes in… cupcake samplers are coming soon. 👀 I can’t wait to have everyone taste-test along with me and help me make sure these flavors are customer approved.

I’m already dreaming up all the apple desserts. 🍎🍂

Out walking the farm today, I noticed our little apple trees are starting to do their thing. I’m still soaking up every bit of summer, but fall has always had my heart. There’s just something about cooler mornings, cinnamon, fresh baked treats, and apples straight from the tree.

Once upon a time, I dreamed of opening an orchard. Turns out that’s a little easier dreamed than done. 😂 So instead, I’ll happily pick apples from our 3 little trees here on the farm and turn them into something delicious.

As my bakery continues to grow, I've decided to separate my cookies into two categories: Classic Cookies and Signature Cookies.

Why the change?

While all of my cookies are made from scratch with quality ingredients, some flavors require more time, specialty ingredients, extra toppings, and additional preparation. Separating them into two categories allows me to better reflect the work and ingredients that go into each cookie while still keeping my classic favorites affordable.

🎓 Graduation season was a busy one around here! 🎓

Right around 350 cookies went out of my kitchen this week to help celebrate some amazing graduates. Thank you to everyone who trusted me to be a small part of such a special milestone!

I didn't get nearly enough pictures of all the "plain" cookies that went out the door, but I did manage to snap a few photos—including a special Twix-inspired cookie made just for one graduate. 🍫✨

Seeing your custom ideas come to life is one of my favorite parts of baking. From simple and elegant graduation cookies to fun personalized treats, every order is made with so much care.

I've been kicking around the idea of adding cupcakes to the Farmhouse Cookie Company menu, and before I go through all the work of testing, perfecting recipes, and putting together a full menu, I'd love to know if anyone would be interested in helping me out!

I'm considering offering these signature flavors:

🍫 Chocolate Dream – Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream

🥜 Chocolate Peanut Butter – Chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream

🍓 Strawberries & Cream – Vanilla cake filled with strawberries and topped with strawberry buttercream

🍪✨ Cookie Dough – Vanilla cake filled with edible cookie dough and topped with cookie dough buttercream

If there's enough interest, I'll put together a limited number of taste tester sampler boxes for $12. In exchange, I'd simply ask for your honest feedback so I can decide which flavors deserve a spot on the menu.

Lately I've been spending a lot of time flipping through old cookbooks that have been passed down through our families. The pages are worn, there are little notes scribbled in the margins, and some recipes have stains from decades of use. Those are always the recipes that pull me in the most.

As much as I enjoy trying new things, there's something special about baking from a recipe that's been loved for generations. It feels a little like carrying on a tradition every time I pull a pan from the oven.

One recipe that has my whole heart is banana bread. It's an old family recipe, and in my completely unbiased opinion, it's the kind that makes your house smell like home and has you sneaking "just one more slice" all day long.

Someday, when Farmhouse Cookie Company has its own little shed bakery, I'd love to offer a few more homemade favorites alongside
cookies.

Banana bread is at the top of that list.
