It's easy to keep your food safe when you shop local.
Columbia is lucky to have many restaurants who source local produce, as well as 4 farmer's market days to choose from, and Clovers Natural Market

When nationwide outbreaks occur, pathogens are coming from mass producers who supply grocery stores and restaurants across the US, not your local produce. You can still have salad, don't panic.

Do: Cook vegetables to 160° internally.
Shop local growers
Wash your hands and produce in hot water
Eat dessert 🙂

Don't: Eat uncooked produce from mass producers.

Governor Mike Kehoe has signed HB 2372 into law, establishing Elijah's Law in Missouri.
The new law requires licensed childcare providers to adopt food allergy prevention and emergency response policies, helping staff better recognize, prepare for, and respond to potentially life-threatening allergic reactions. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will develop model policies, and licensed childcare providers will be required to implement them as part of licensure.
FARE applauds the advocates, families, lawmakers, and partner organizations whose dedication made this milestone possible. Congratulations to the Elijah-Alavi Foundation on this incredible achievement. Elijah's legacy continues to make childcare safer for children with food allergies across the country. FARE is proud to stand alongside the Foundation in advocating for Elijah's Law in states across the country so that more children can benefit from these lifesaving protections.

True story tho: for 5 years, a neighbor in the Warehouse asked where I got my baked goods -- despite seeing me mix and bake all day, every day. Eventually I gave up and just told him Schnucks cuz the man wasn't listening anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️
