Hartsburg was a hot one!! In fact, Sunday was the hottest ever October 11 on record for this area. That did tone down the afternoon crowds a little, but not the greatness of all things pumpkin festival. We still sang and danced and ate tornado potatoes and smiled at babies and pet lots of dogs, and kittens! Even without a sales record it is still our best sales weekend of the year by leaps and bounds. And the best part is, I had all my kiddos with me which makes every minute special before they all scatter back to their grown-up lives elsewhere. So glad to be a part of this event with my family and everyone else’s, and can’t wait to do it again next year. I’ll bring the ice!!

Just a reminder that we are closed today and Friday to spend time with out-of-state or soon to be out-of-state family. We hope to see you Wednesday and Thursday, and we’ll be back to regular hours next week.

Good morning, Hartsburg!!! Come see us at Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival today and tomorrow, 9 am to 5 pm!!! (We recommend getting here early or taking the shuttle.)

T-9 hours on the Pumpkin Festival aaaaand….we’re not ready. But almost!! Few dozen more bows to tie (thank you Gracie and Amanda, who is on hour 13 today), some logistics to still figure, and about 1,200 cakes to load in the van, and we’ll be ready for takeoff!!!

T-7 hours…Goodnight!

We interrupt this Pumpkin Festival countdown with some information regarding our hours next week. To spend time with family, some visiting from out of town and some moving out of town, we will be closed next week on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and Friday, October 16. We will be OPEN on Wednesday and Thursday, the 14th and 15th. Thank you so much for your understanding and have a great week!!

2 days till the Pumpkin Festival! All back to normal, all hands on deck!! Eric asked, how did you ever do this all from home? I honestly have no idea. We did then concede we weren’t operating a bakery as usual and prepping for the pumpkin festival at the same time back then. But still…

3 days till the Pumpkin Festival…and we didn’t have this on the schedule. Everybody is ok, and it wasn’t our fire but we got a lot of smoke and smell. Keep a good thought for our neighboring restaurant, they’re going to be out of commission for a bit.
