Belmont Stakes! 🐎 Right before the big race, it started pouring rain and a rainbow appeared over the track. The crowd went wild when Golden Tempo (whose trainer is from Saratoga Springs!) followed up a Kentucky Derby win with a Belmont Stakes victory.*

*This is me pretending to know something about horse racing...when in reality this was my first (and likely last 😂) trip to the races. But it was pretty cool to be there for Belmont's final year in Saratoga!

Last night's class! 🍪🐠🦈

We had so much fun decorating ocean-themed cookies at Malta Community Center! This group did an amazing job, and I loved seeing everyone's creativity come to life.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was practicing royal icing piping on shark outlines 🦈. Since we had some knowledgeable bakers in the room, we also kicked things off with a cookie decorating "show and tell" game. Participants picked tools from a basket—like scribes, merengue powder, and cookie cutters—and guessed what each one was used for. It sparked great conversations, thoughtful questions, and even a discussion about accommodating food allergies.

Teaching cookie classes is one of my favorite things, and I'm excited to share that I'll be back at Malta Community Center this fall with four brand-new classes! Stay tuned for details. 🍪
