I haven’t done this in so long, but I think I’m going to get back into sharing my foodie & other random fun thoughts with you!
I rarely have a taste for sushi, but I did tonight for some reason. I’m on relax mode since I had an event earlier, so GrubHub it was! I ordered from U2 Japan for the first time & I’ll definitely order again. Here’s what I got…
Ichachi Tuna- crispy rice, spicy tuna, jalapeño, eel sauce & spicy mayo
Sooo freaking good. The rice was the perfect level of crispy without scraping up the inside of my mouth lol, but also held its shape. There wasn’t a lot of spice happening even with the jalapeño, but it was still delicious.
Yeah, honestly more detectable spice would’ve made this a 10/10
Tatsuta Age
I’ve only had Kara Age before, and from what I can gather the main difference is this is breaded, while the other is battered..? (I’ll be going on a Wikipedia run, don’t you worry). Perfectly fried, the right amount of savory without being salty, and the bites weren’t tough.
Dangerously easy to pop in your mouth continuously & the sauce is like a high quality soy BBQ sauce, without the heavy sweetness.
Lastly, for a fresh bite I got a Cucumber Roll.
Good quantity, POTENT wasabi and the way the cucumber shreds were chopped made for perfect mouthfeel. I wasn’t chewing forever, and they didn’t feel waterlogged either. Their sushi rice is ever so lightly seasoned, so it’s not overly vinegary and it also is the perfect texture.
