📱 WhatsApp 8310 8330 Zenn’s journey with baking began over 20 years ago, when her mum guided her through the steps of baking her very first cake - The Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake. That afternoon in the kitchen sparked a deep love for baking, one that would quietly grow from a weekend hobby into a lifelong pursuit. In 2013, Cake Spade was born; a vision of a daily cake store that would offer more than just dessert, but a little moment of joy for every kind of day. To pursue her craft more seriously, Zenn enrolled in pastry school, where she sharpened her skills and deepened her understanding of the science and artistry behind baking. She later joined the pastry team at the Shangri-La Hotel and went on to head the dessert kitchen of Singapore’s pioneering artisanal ice cream parlour. These formative years gave her a strong foundation and the confidence to strike out on her own. Opening Cake Spade was a leap of faith. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant dessert scene in America, a scene she fell in love with during her time in New York, tasting her way through countless bakeries, Zenn saw the potential of bringing bold, layered American-style cakes to Singapore. Being attuned to local tastes, she believed that with the right approach, these cakes could find their place here. She poured her heart into developing flavours that felt both exciting and familiar. At Cake Spade, we believe dessert is more than just the final course. A comfort. A surprise. We bake with the belief that every slice should taste as good as it looks. That’s why everything is made from scratch in small batches, using fresh, quality ingredients, with no chemical stabilisers or artificial preservatives, in a kitchen that smells like toasted sugar and warm vanilla, just the way Zenn likes it.
