Notice all the swallows flying low?

When the lambs graze they disturb the insects harbouring low around the grass The swallows take advantage of the disturbance and the insects being flushed out of the grass to have their early morning feed We love this because in our damp climate it really helps with mosquito control. Mosquitos and other flying insects are often the cause of spreading diseases including Cache Valley Virus (which has not spread this far west … yet ), and pink eye. We love our little swallow friends # #

We’re always on the hunt to promote wool usage

Coir dries out fast, repels water when it gets too dry and ships from the other side of the world.

Loose washed wool does the opposite! It easily moulds to the shape of your basket, holds the soil in place, and slows moisture loss from the sides and base so your baskets stay damp longer between waterings.

This is what a wool-lined basket looks like before planting. The washed wool also lasts multiple seasons when outdoors, even overwintering with minimal loss.

Experience the difference this season!
