Cake Yard has a small team who have been designing cakes for many years with experience in airbrushing art and creative design. Santa Portrait Painting Workshop | Bookings Now Open!

Get into the Christmas spirit and join us for a fun, festive day of painting!

Cake Yard, in collaboration with Edible Atelier, is hosting a special Christmas workshop where you’ll learn how to bring Santa to life using edible paints.

This is a painting-focused workshop, designed to help you develop skills and techniques you can take home and use to create your own edible masterpieces.

Throughout the day, we’ll explore:
🎨 Colour mixing and creating skin tones
🎨 Building a portrait from start to finish
🎨 Layering, blending, highlights and shadows
🎨 Brush techniques to create depth and detail
🎨 How to paint on fondant using edible paints

You’ll create your Santa portrait on a fondant disc, and we’ll even show you how to cut out your finished artwork so you can use it to decorate your own Christmas cake!

Whether you’re new to painting or looking to develop your existing skills, this workshop is all about learning, experimenting and having a little festive fun along the way.

What an incredible honour to attend this year’s ACADA Australasian Cake Oscar Awards and be named Global Edible Artist of the Year 2026.

The calibre of artists among this year’s finalists was truly outstanding, which makes receiving this award even more special. To be recognised alongside so many talented, creative and inspiring people from within the cake and edible art industry is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Edible art has been such a huge part of my creative journey over the years. It has challenged me, pushed me to keep developing my skills and given me opportunities and friendships I never could have imagined when I first started.

A huge thank you to ACADA, the judges, and everyone involved in putting together such a wonderful evening and celebrating the incredible talent within our industry.

I’m very grateful, very proud, and still a little bit blown away to be able to say I’m the 2026 Global Edible Artist of the Year. ❤️
