Sunshine Coast Sourdough Co founded by self-taught sourdough baker enthusiast Greg Turner. Our focus is handmade artisan sourdough breads created with three amazingly simple ingredients, organic flour, filtered water and sea salt. We source only the best quality organic and sustainably grown grains produced here in Australia. We also have a range of sweet and savoury treats for all of the family t

o enjoy! All our sourdough is prepared with traditional methods which have been used for thousands of years, way before commercial yeast existed. Our bread is made using a sourdough starter and fermented slowly over 36 hours allowing the gluten in the flours to be broken down properly which in turn makes it more digestible and friendly for your gut.

Purple Wheat Heritage Sourdough, available this week only!

This loaf is all about flavour, provenance and exceptional grain. Made with a blend of 50% sustainable white heritage flour and 50% freshly milled biodynamic Purple Wheat Heritage grain, it delivers a beautiful nutty flavour and an incredible natural colour.
The grain is grown by Stephen and Tania Walter of Burrum Biodynamics in Marnoo, Victoria.

For more than 20 years, Stephen and Tania have farmed biodynamically with a focus on soil health, ecological diversity and long-term sustainability. Their Purple Wheat Heritage grain is a true expression of farming connected to living soil and thoughtful agricultural practice.

For those interested in biodynamic farming, it’s a growing standard that goes beyond conventional organic practices — avoiding synthetic fertilisers, pesticides and GMOs while focusing on holistic regenerative agriculture.

Naturally leavened and freshly milled daily in-house, this is a loaf we are genuinely excited to have back on the menu.
