PERSONAL POST AND OVERSHARE ALERT ‼️
Many of my loyal, close and years long customers knew about the battles I've been having in my personal life for the past 18 months.
Firstly, I've been in the process of getting divorced, this started in July 2024. My daughter was initially going to stay with her father until I got back on my feet. When the time came in January 2025, it became a custody battle. Long story short, this is finally over and as of 29 June, my daughter will be with me full time! 🥳🫶
Secondly, ( judge away) my partner lost his job in October 2025 and was without an income for 3 months. When he got a job again, the salary was less than half of what we were used to. Since he lost his job and wasn't earning enough to cover all the expenses he used to, we were trying our best to make up the difference in cookie.
THIS WAS HARD, not due to the lack of orders, but due to the lack of time I had available.
I couldn't say no to orders, we needed the extra income 😔 I ended up working my fingers to the bone, exhausted, overworked and sleep deprived. Most weeks I didn't even get 12 hours of sleep. I didn't have time to cook, clean or do anything in the house, my partner did all of that so that I can just focus on cookies. Needless to say, it is not sustainable but you gotta do what you gotta do, I suppose.
I dropped the ball on quite a few occasions, had to refund customers, had to delay delivery dates and/or times and for this I sincerely apologize. We tried our best to keep our little boat afloat but this also resulted in damage to our reputation.
Again, I am truly sorry to anyone and everyone we disappointed during this time.
But, it seems like things are finally taking a turn for the better! My partner is back where he is happy (and earning a better income) and my daughter will be back with me.
As a result, my first priority now will be being a mom and taking care of my household and my family. I am actually looking forward to cooking dinner for them, something I never had time for 😭
‼️ WE'RE NOT CLOSING DOWN, BUT SCALING DOWN and made the decision to only take on 100 cookies a week. This will give me enough time to work on orders after my daughter goes to bed while still getting a decent amount of sleep.
By scaling down we will have to turn down orders when we are fully booked for a certain week, so it is more important than ever that orders are placed in advance.
Our booking/payment terms have not changed, you can book a spot months in advance without any payment. This secures your spot. We then make contact 2 weeks in advance to finalize and only then will payment be due.
