🍂 SEPTEMBER 1 IS A BIG DAY AT SWEET ROOTS! 🍂

Tomorrow we’re officially launching our FALL DRINK MENU and this one is extra special because we’ve been creating our own sauces and syrups right here in house!

We now have more sizes, too:

🥤 Cold drinks: 16, 20 and 24 oz.
☕ Hot drinks: 8, 16 and 20 oz.

But that’s not all coming tomorrow…

🍰 We’ll announce all the details for our Cheesecake of the Month Club.

🎂 Our baking classes are back and will be live on our website.

👩‍🍳 We’re also looking for an on call baking assistant!

This position starts at $15 an hour. Because I’m still working for the Weiser Chamber of Commerce and becoming more involved with local committees, I need someone dependable who can step in when I’m needed elsewhere. Most Chamber events happen on Tuesdays, so Tuesday availability is a must.

You’ll need to:

• Learn how to use our espresso machine
• Read and follow recipes accurately
• Handle interruptions while baking and still remember what step you were on
• Have solid basic math skills
• Be dependable, flexible and ready to jump in where needed

This will begin as an on call position, but as soon as it makes sense for the bakery, we would love to see it grow!

🍩 WEISER IS A CITY OF CHURCHES AND WE WANT TO BLESS THEM. ❤️

This morning we delivered SIX DOZEN donuts to Cornerstone Assembly of God!

Every Sunday, we want to bless a different local church that blesses our community.

It doesn’t matter what denomination. Big church, little church, old church, new church this isn’t about which one has the biggest congregation.

Weiser has so many churches filled with people who serve, give, pray, volunteer, feed families, help neighbors, love kids and show up when our community needs them.

So tell us…

Maybe they run a food pantry.
Maybe they help families quietly behind the scenes.

Well… somebody’s loss is about to be somebody else’s FREE CAKE. 😂

We had a cake ordered for pickup yesterday, but nobody ever showed up.

Looking back at the messages, there were definitely a few red flags I didn’t catch at first. No name, some unusual wording, and then after I messaged that the cake was ready, my texts suddenly went from blue to green.

They had even asked if they needed to leave a deposit, and thankfully I had just told them they could pay when they picked it up. No Venmo. No payment links. No personal information exchanged. So whether it was an attempted scam or just somebody who disappeared on us… lesson learned.

BUT now we have a perfectly good cake sitting here, and we haven’t done a giveaway this week. 👀

So let’s turn it into something fun.

We’re having a full weekend of specials at Sweet Roots Bakery! ✨🥐
In honor of Dolly Parton, we’ll have fresh funnel cakes and Spudnuts available Saturday and Sunday. Dolly loved potatoes in every form, so bringing you our potato-based Spudnuts felt like the perfect way to celebrate her.
But that’s not all we have going on this weekend!
Because I got way too many jalapeños from Purdum’s Produce we’ll also have bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers available Saturday and Sunday. 🌶️🥓
And on Sunday, we’ll be making our breakfast burritos! We will have 30 available for walk-ins, so if you know you want one, please order ahead to make sure you don’t miss out. 🌯
The best part: 10% of all profits from this weekend will go to our local Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Your visit helps support a program that puts free books into the hands of local children from birth to age 5. 📚🤍

I know I’m late posting today. It’s been one of those weeks where life outside the bakery has been extra full family, tiredness, a hurt pinky, and a little one working on getting back into a good sleep routine.
But even in the middle of the chaos, Sweet Roots is still baking, still growing, and still putting beautiful things in the oven.
These croissants came out perfectly crisp on the outside, buttery and airy inside, with that soft little bounce we love. 🥐
Dolly said it best: “If you keep yourself out of the game for fear of losing, there is no way on this earth you’re gonna win.”
So we keep showing up even when we’re tired. And we are so thankful you keep showing up for us, too.

Happy National Dog Day from Sweet Roots Bakery! 🐾🤎

I figured it was time to officially introduce you to my girls.

This is Auri, our Miniature Australian Shepherd sweet, fluffy, beautiful, and fully aware of it.

And then there’s Matilda. What breed is she?
Just a baby. 😂 That is the official answer.

These two are part of the family behind Sweet Roots, and somehow they manage to live very stressful lives filled with naps, snacks, being loved on, and supervising everything we do.

Now I want to see YOUR babies! Drop a picture of your dog in the comments and tell me their name. Bonus points for the most ridiculous sleeping position. 😂🐶
