Tomorrow's forecast for Market at the Mill is showing thunderstorms most of the day, so we're watching the weather closely and waiting for updates from market organizers.

We'll let everyone know as soon as a decision is made. Until then, I'll be over here refreshing the radar like it's my full-time job.

This week's 'BOOKIE COOKIE' comes from The Cookie Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum.

Every baker has that one cookbook.

Mine is The Cookie Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum, and I've had it for so long that the pages are worn, splattered, and filled with memories. Truth be told, I "borrowed" it from my mom years ago and somehow never managed to return it. At this point, I think the statute of limitations has expired. 😆

When I first started baking, this book taught me so much. Not just recipes, but the fundamentals. Why ingredients matter. Why technique matters. Why sometimes the difference between good and amazing is just a few extra minutes of patience. Rose is a literal genius.

This week's 'Chocolate Peanut Butter Sammie' comes straight from those well-loved pages. Rich chocolate cookies sandwiched around a creamy peanut butter filling and drizzled in chocolate. This is one of those recipes that's been part of my baking journey for years.

Funny how a beat-up old cookbook can teach you skills that stay with you for a lifetime.

Someone called me 'Cookie Queen' yesterday. I prefer
"Princess of the Cookie Realm" 👑🍪

It's an entirely reasonable title. Some people inherit kingdoms. Some conquer them. Some build an empire out of butter, sugar, and the collective inability of humans to walk past a good cookie without convincing themselves it's "for later."

From this day forth, I'll address myself as Princess of the Cookie Realm when it fits the conversation. It certainly has more flair than "head baker" and considerably more authority than most actual monarchs.

Long may my cookie pies be gooey, my markets be crowded and my inventory sell out before the weather decides to become personally offensive, because certain people (and you know who you are City of Villa Rica) absolutely know that I panic if there's rain in the forecast. 🤣

This week's cookbook-inspired treat comes from one of my favorite books, Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon. 🤎

Inspired by Reese's love of Southern comfort desserts, I created a Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle that's layered with everything a proper dessert should have: rich chocolate, creamy peanut butter, peanut butter cups and absolutely no regrets.

Layer after layer of fudgy brownies, silky peanut butter filling, chocolate goodness, and buttercream come together in a dessert that's equal parts comforting and indulgent.

Meet the Cookie Dough Cookie. 🍪✨

We start with a rich brown butter chocolate chip cookie base, then pile it high with fluffy cookie dough buttercream. Because stopping there would have shown entirely too much restraint.

Each cookie is finished with chunks of our shop-made edible cookie dough and a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips for the perfect bite every time.

Soft, buttery, loaded with chocolate, and unapologetically over the top.

If cookie dough is your weakness, consider this your warning. 💛

Caramel Cornflake Brownie. Yep. It's a brownie with cornflakes on top. Sounds weird but....is it really?

If a fudgy brownie and your favorite childhood cereal had a delicious little rebellion, this would be the result.

Rich, chocolatey brownies topped with a buttery, crunchy cornflake layer that brings the perfect sweet-and-salty bite. Soft, chewy, crispy, gooey... basically all the textures showed up to the party.

These are the kind of treats that make you cut "just a small piece" and somehow end up coming back three more times. Science has yet to explain it.
