We’re surrounded by big brother Malc’s tractors and sunshine and flowers from Delight and random piles of blankets and Spanky still barking at everything and a garden recently planted screaming at us to not forget it and just so much LOVE.

Things are real good right now. Learning and adapting and adjusting. In awe of life through it all.

Been waiting since Oct to debut this onesie from . Baby Russell will probably see y’all around town real soon! Cheers!

I’m really grateful for this time and space I have taken from running a bakery before our new family member arrives. We are days (maybe a few, maybe many more, idk full moon is on Friday) away from meeting this human and the days leading up have been some of my favorite ever. So much laughing at and interacting with Malcolm’s silly character development, and then Chase and I will catch glances and just start tearing up instead because he’s growing up before our eyes. Much baking has persisted, but to fill my own freezer with my own lil sneaky treats. Casually making really incredible bread right now too, of course.

Life feels joyful in this liminal space.

Miss baking as Tooth Butter though. Be back eventually when I get my sea legs.

I have a meal train prepped and ready to help support me and my hungry fam in the coming weeks with new baby and life adjustments. If you are interested in preparing some foods for us, shoot me a message and I’ll lovingly share link.

So grateful. I am so grateful to be a baker in this town, lovingly supported by this community. Pick-ups yesterday were full of good conversations and well wishes for this next phase of motherhood from folks who have been buying bread and treats since the beginning, nearly three years. So damn special and felt like a perfect bake to end on. Minus the entire lot of Honey Oat Porridge loaves taken to doomsville by the unexpected humidity??? Thought I might do a redemption round of the bread next week because I couldn’t bear the thought of that being the last one…don’t even have enough grains. Lol. I’m working to wrap things up in the kitchen this week and then drifting off into as much rest as I can get before a new family member joins us…thank you so much!

This will be all of us, soon enough. Until they’re local berries like this flat that Malc was noshing on last spring, I’m continuing to line up behind parking lot fruit trucks to get my FL berries. Got a round coming next week. Perfect timing for a finale round of pastries.

I’m doing one final pop-up bake before baby time, Saturday April 4th! A spring bake! Orders go live tomorrow at 10am. Link in bio.

Menu//
Citrus Cinny Roll (four-packs) w/ Bmilk frosting
Honey Oat Porridge loaves
Spring Pastry box (strawberry oat galette, ramp twisty bun, rhubarb jam & cream danish, and orange passionfruit & coconut cream mini pie)

Love ya! Enjoy this sunshine.

We are down to the last few bakes before I go into an indefinite length maternity leave. Choosing motherhood for a minute, adapting to life with two littles, and zooming out on this little bakery so I can relish in all that it has brought to our life (community!) and ruminate on how to best keep it going down the line (bread and sneaky treats shall return eventually!)

Last round of treats for today. Should have a lil something available throughout the weekend.

The last Freezer Stash Pantry Bread goes live on my HotPlate at 10 this morning. English muffins and Every Little Thing cookies in this round. I expect it to be a gauntlet. Lol.

And then this Sunday, pre-orders for a celebratory Spring Bake! go live on my HotPlate. I’m doing citrus cinny roll’s, honey oat porridge boules, and a spring inspired pastry box with four pastries that I’m quite excited about. Bake will be on Saturday, April 4th, pick-ups at Elm City.

Yeehaw! Thank you for really solid support and love these last three years. I am truly excited for what the future can hold.

Today was my last Pantry Bread bake for a while. So grateful for all of the support. So grateful for hosting pick-ups for the last couple of years. This has grown significantly, I keep using up more table space and they just keep pouring me kombucha. Real good folks in there.

First round of Freezer Stash Pantry Bread goes live tomorrow AM on my HotPlate. Slightly different layout here. One type of bread, two pick-up dates each week, pick-up at where my kitchen is located. These bakes are intended to help you stash away a bit of bread for while I’m gone on indefinite length maternity leave. Of course, it will still be baked fresh so if you simply need bread in the next few weeks, order away!

Kumquat, Mandarin, Cara Cara, and Passionfruit Jam. Lovingly made with organic citrus all from San Gabriel Ranch in CA. I don’t know too much about magic but I’m pretty sure these three jars contain all that we need to conjure true spring here in the Midwest. Especially the one with the old canning lid from my grandma.

No clue what they will be used for yet. Still baking every Friday for Elm City so maybe something there.

Anyway, it’s rainy and not sunny so here’s some sunshine in jam form. Love ya!

Shared a newsletter yesterday detailing my last handful of bread bakes this month before maternity leave/Tooth Butter dormancy. On that note, last normal Pantry Bread One-Off goes live this morning at 10am on my HotPlate.

I am a big ol bag of emotions right now. Mostly spending time in gratitude, thankfully. Body is holding up too, but I am advocating for it by choosing to rest early.

I shared some images in my newsletter that .photo captured on Chase and I’s community driven wedding day back in August. Sharing a few more here. These photos floor me. But more importantly they remind me of the important work being done by so many people in our community. What it looks like to show up for others and truly care for them. Our day was lovingly executed by and shared with dear friends, many that are also small business owners.

I am looking forward to some time away. A moment to catch my breath (as a soon to be mother of two lol), ruminate on what it means to be a bread baker in my community, and how I can keep paving a path forward that takes care of me and you.

Link to website in my bio. Same for HotPlate.

I met a lot of new folks last weekend at the market and I had many a question about “what exactly are you doing?” Lol, in a good way. People wanting to know where to find my baking.

I have a spiel, I joyfully gave it to each person who asked. Pantry Bread, order at my HotPlate, pop-ups, for the coffee shop where my kitchen is, etc.

I spent the morning prepping the bake for tomorrow, figured I would give a quick run down of upcoming bakes. I am quickly approaching maternity leave for our second child, starting it a bit before baby comes to allow myself some rest. Between now and then, I have a bit of bread baking still do to, next Pantry Bread is March 5th, preorders go live Feb 27th at my HotPlate (link in bio.) Pick-ups happen at . I am planning some additional Freezer Stash Pantry Bread bakes, details to come. I have no more big pop-ups planned for now, but I have a couple ideas for spring that will probably turn into bakes around end of March, can’t help myself. Lastly, I am baking every Friday for Elm City Coffee in Urbana. My kitchen is housed by the shop, it’s a fun way for me to put a selection of goodies out every week. You can find pastry (and GUHD coffee!) in there all weekend usually. Typically out by 10AM Friday.

Lineup for tomorrow//
Maple Oatmeal scone w/ Cherry Currant jam
Roasted Carrot savory galette
Buckwheat Choco Chip cookies
Spelt Linzer cookie w/ Strawberry Passionfruit jam
Meyer Lemon Poppyseed muffin
Apple Butter oat bar (last round before switching to berrieeeees!)
Citrus Cinny palmiers(!!!)
