At this point, if you want some cream pies, you’re going to have to get there quickly 🤣 I’ve already had people telling me what all they’re getting haha

Y’all really get me working on testing my abilities! 🤣 I did not think I would be able to come up with a cream pie that did not have any dairy, eggs, or tree nuts, which would be coconut in this case! My usual dairy and egg free cream pies contain coconut oil, and depending on the flavor, also coconut sugar. I did not think I would be able to find a swap for the coconut oil that fell within my ingredient promises. Meaning, seed oil free, mostly organic, etc. But I kept working at it and kept researching seeing what my options were! I am so excited to be able to offer this for my customers with allergies to coconut that could not have the cream pies before! 🥹
In the future, always double check with me to see if the cream pie flavor has coconut oil or not, because the substitution I found is pricier, I may not use this recipe as my every time base, so I will likely still have some cream pies that contain coconut! Your allergy warning will always be on the label, but if you ever want to double check with me before making a trip out to Hometown Market when I post a menu, please do so!

I am testing out a new Cookies & cream pie variation. I am looking to make it similar to the mint Oreos! I will have three of these available at Hometown Market this week, so if you snag one, give me your feedback on it! I am deathly afraid of making mint products taste like toothpaste, but you also have to be able to taste it. The mint in the store bought cookies is a mixture, not just pure peppermint. I love the flavor, but I need to get feedback on the amount of mint and if it needs more based on Y’ALLS taste buds!

Things that aren’t seen behind the scenes:
• Me being the last one up on prep and bake days while my husband and kids sleep so I can mix up things to long ferment without the kids running around 🫣
• Making 3-4 trips to the store because one single store doesn’t have all of the ingredients I need (whether it be gluten free safe, specific cheese or dairy products I require to be organic or grass fed, etc)
• Emailing companies about products and their facilities and asking about any possible cross contamination for a product I’m unsure of
• Spending hoouuurrssss researching products to fit within the ingredient specifications I need (gluten free, seed oil free, artificial color and flavor free, no propylene glycol, etc), or making an ingredient myself because I cannot find a clean option
• Choosing to get back up after I’ve fallen to sleep getting my 3 month old to sleep, to clean my house so I wake up a little less anxious of all I have to get done for the day
• Recipe testing, and sometimes failing, over and over to attempt to make foods that are safe for a wide range of dietary needs so people don’t feel left out, and those who care about ingredients have clean options that can still be fun 🫶🏻
Being a full time stay at home mom+work from home mom has a LOT of things that go on that nobody sees. But the tiring days are worth it to 1) be home with my kids more and not have to miss out on these short years 2) do the thing I love (bake) and help people have good, clean food 🥹

Alrighty Hometown Market family… here is my proposed menu for the week! As always, this will be the menu *as long as I have no disasters while baking* 😅 This postpartum mama has had pretty severe forgetfulness and brain fog for a few weeks 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ Drop will be either Wednesday morning or Thursday morning. I’m aiming for Wednesday, but that’s rushing my processes a bit and it may be my usual Thursday morning timeframe!
‼️ I will also open this up to a handful of my non Hometown Market customers pre order from this menu as well for pick up at my home in Flint Thursday late afternoon/evening.‼️
This will be very limited spots this time, but I had told yall I would try to get some orders opened back up for people who can’t make it to Troup, so I’m going to attempt it! My oldest birthday is this week so I didn’t want to have two menus going and be too overwhelmed for her party prep lol

These are *slightly* smaller than my usual; they are $6 each. Pick up today in Flint.

I am unsure if I will be doing a drop at Hometown Market this week. We may just need the week off and allow me to restock all of my supplies.
HOWEVER. I am going to open LIMITED individual ordering back up nNEXT WEEK (Aug 10-14) once I know all of my supplies have made it in and I’m not running into delivery issues (my delayed box from last week was missing HALF of my supplies from faulty handling and the box opening). 🤦🏼‍♀️
Please be mindful that I am a 3 month postpartum mom who also has 2 toddlers,  and is also supplying 2 businesses with baked goods. 🫣 If I have to close ordering in half a day or let you know availability is booked, I apologize!
*Ordering will be open Mondays, and pick up will be Friday morning 10 or 10:30am or evening, 6 or 6:30pm. Location: Flint, near Brookshires on 155. Very occasional exceptions can be made at my discretion and if my schedule allows. But for now I need a set pick up day for consistency, as well as being sure I have plenty of time for my family. 💖
‼️Payment due at the time you place your order. Refunds will only be issued if I am unable to fulfill your order at the agreed-upon date and time, and if the customer does not want to reschedule their pick up in a day or two.
