As we speed towards Summer, let's take a moment to reflect on the true essence of Memorial Day, a holiday that stands paramount among all others. While we eagerly plan our summer escapades, barbecues, and gatherings, let's not forget the unwavering spirit of freedom that defines us. Freedom, though priceless, came at a profound cost, as brave citizens, akin to our beloved family members, laid down their lives for our liberty. The families who lost their angels must find ways to heal, a journey that can't be easy and leaves some forever scarred. Having been drafted during the Vietnam War and enlisted alongside a dear friend who made the ultimate sacrifice, I understand the depth of this sacrifice. Though fate spared me to serve in Washington, DC, while my friend went to war, his absence still resonates deeply. My father, a WWII Air Force veteran who dedicated his life to fixing planes for the war effort, returned home to loving family arms and lived a fulfilling life until 84. When he passed, the military honored his service with a dignified funeral. The moment the Captain handed me the American Flag and thanked me for my father's service, I was overwhelmed with emotion, realizing the nation's gratitude towards its humble servants like myself. Though the weather may seem ominous, rest assured that the warmth of family will keep you safe. Let's honor the memories of those who are no longer with us and those who have served. A simple 'thank you for your service' can mean the world to a veteran, so let's show our appreciation. Wishing you a meaningful weekend. PS- you are the best customers & we appreciate you.
