German Baking with Raven Cakes Bakery Authentic German baking made simple. Step-by-step videos and recipes. Learn, bake, enjoy. 🍰🇩🇪 Hi, I’m Davia! I grew up in Germany and moved to the U.S.

at 14, and I know how hard it can be to find the real flavors of German baking here. If you’ve been searching for authentic German recipes—cakes, cookies, breads, and holiday favorites—you’re in the right place. I started recreating the baked goods I missed from home, and in 2023 that passion grew into Raven Cakes Bakery. Since then, I’ve become a baking instructor and now share step-by-step German recipes on my blog and YouTube channel for anyone who wants to bake with confidence, whether you’re reconnecting with your roots or discovering these recipes for the first time. Here, you'll find approachable tutorials, tested recipes, and the traditions that make German baking special. My goal is simple: to help you bake something delicious, meaningful, and truly authentic—right from your own kitchen. Follow along for new recipes, helpful tips, and a warm taste of Germany brought to your table.🤍

Update 1
Im excited to start at a new market in November, but I wil also stay of course .
In November and December my husband will run the 2 holiday markets with my daughter while I at the same time run a new market.

I decided it is a good time to test all of those before the season closes so l have an understand of how doubling down could work and how to plan for the next season well.

This means: timing each bake, understanding profit and cost, hiring the right help and more!

Expanding is not easy ...and so I want to do it well...and with much thought!

The kitchen gives me the capacity to bake more, but I also have a higher overhead and so that means needing to add on more markets.

I want to double down because I still want to have at least one weekend off per month for family...and I also want the space and income to hire the right people and train well!

I am so grateful how far this little bakery got in 3 years ... and I can't believe I'm officially by December baking out of a rented space
Thank you all for being here and supporting my little bakery dreams !

So many of you have send me videos about the 60$ Rye Bread in NYC.

And I think it's such a cool idea...60$ is a lot but NYC is not cheap

I guess now don't feel so bad charging 6$
pretzel 🥨

But in the meantime ...did you know I also have a German Roggenmisch Brot baking video? And it's NOT 60$

This is not 100% rye...but a rye mixed bread and one of my favorites!

But all that being said...I guess I choose the right time to have a German baking business🤣🤣

In my online class:
You learn how to make your rye starter, rye predough and a German roggenmisch brot.

Fun fact: Germans do not dip their Pretzel in Mustard.

I always tell everyone in my pretzel classes to try pretzels with butter and even some chives, pumpkin seeds or place a cheese slice over the pretzel and bake it.

Officially figured out a system to make more pretzels per market. 😊🥰
