The most time extensive graduation cake from last weekend. A two tier buttercream cake with added handmade and painted fondant beads and broaches. The inspiration cake had a brown leather looking bottom tier, but the graduation girl wanted her school colors in black and gold. I added several layers of black buttercream, manually airbrushed on black cocoa powder for a dark matted finished. I used a silicone mat to create the floral swirl pattern. The hat is a styrofoam piece covered in fondant. 🖤💛🖤💛
