Back Porch Global Methodist Church Spirit-led, Bible-based Global Methodist Church that started on a porch in 2020. Come as you are—Saturdays at 5PM in Slidell. All are welcome.

Back Porch Church began in 2020 during the pandemic as a way to stay connected in fellowship and faith—even if it meant meeting outside on the back porch. What started as a simple gathering of hearts hungry for God has grown into a Spirit-led, Bible-based church where all are welcome, just as you are. In December 2024, we joyfully joined the Global Methodist Church, affirming our commitment to bib

lical truth and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As our church family continued to grow, we moved off the back porch in March 2025 and began meeting at First Presbyterian Church in Slidell—no longer at the mercy of the unpredictable Louisiana weather! Led by Pastor Jim Fatic, we gather for worship every Saturday at 5:00 PM. Whether you're new to church, returning after time away, or looking for a community rooted in grace and truth, there's a place for you here at Back Porch Church.

This Memorial Day, we remember with deep gratitude the men and women who gave their lives while serving our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and love for others continue to inspire us. Today we honor not only those who served, but also the families who carry their memory every day.

As we enjoy this holiday with loved ones, may we pause to give thanks, pray for peace, and remember those who paid the highest price for the freedoms we often take for granted.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

The hymn 𝐼𝑡 𝐼𝑠 𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑀𝑦 𝑆𝑜𝑢𝑙 was written by Horatio Spafford after a series of devastating tragedies. In 1873, his four daughters died when the ship they were traveling on sank in the Atlantic Ocean. As he later traveled across the ocean near the place where they died, he wrote the words, “It is well with my soul,” expressing deep trust in God even in grief.

𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

We understand this in everyday life. The people we follow, listen to, watch, and interact with regularly begin to shape our thoughts, our emotions, and even our desires. Attention builds relationship.

Jesus used words like “seek” and “follow” because a relationship with Him is not built in a single moment — it is formed through daily attention and intentional time spent with Him.

Our phones and computers constantly compete for our focus. Notifications, scrolling, videos, and endless information can quietly consume the attention that was meant to draw us closer to Christ. But if we want a deeper relationship with Jesus, we must intentionally turn our eyes toward Him.

Sometimes the holiest thing we can do is simply put the phone down, step away from the screen, open God’s Word, and sit quietly with Jesus.

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus…” (Hebrews 12:2)

What we repeatedly give our attention to will shape who we become. May we learn to give Jesus our first attention, not our leftover attention.

Happy Mother’s Day from Back Porch Global Methodist Church 💐

Today we give thanks for the women who have nurtured, guided, and loved so faithfully—mothers, grandmothers, spiritual mothers, and all who pour into the lives of others with grace and strength.

We recognize that this day can hold both joy and heaviness. Whether you are celebrating, remembering, longing, or grieving, you are seen and loved.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed…” – Proverbs 31:28

We pray God’s peace, comfort, and blessing over every woman today. Thank you for the countless ways you reflect His love.
