Me here, taking a break from sharing cake photo after cake photo to share a personal post…..
My sweet boy starts school tomorrow, and WOW am I emotional.. I might also be a smidge emotional that tomorrow is my 38th birthday. 🥴
Sending your child off to school is hard enough, but sending your autistic child into a world that isn’t always built with them in mind comes with a whole different set of emotions. I’m excited for him, so proud of him, and also carrying all of those little worries that come with hoping he is understood, supported, and treated kindly.
He is such a special little boy, and I know he is capable of so much. Tomorrow is a huge step for him.. and for me.
So if I’m a little slower or quieter this week, just know I’m probably somewhere trying not to cry over my baby starting this new chapter. 🥹💙
