Best time to get Banitsa? Right now!

And here are the best ways:
* Show up early to a farmers market (we’re at many)
* Don’t be in a hurry at the bakery (we’re can probably bake you some if we’re out and you’ve got time
* Place an order! This is the best way to guarantee banitsa!
* Use Door Dash
* Beg someone to pick some up for you if they are going to the market early
* Trust the universe (Jak’s words) and one day you’ll walk through the bakery door at exactly the moment we are pulling it out of the oven ✨

The Draft has come and gone, now what?? We’ll tell you what: music and dancing!!

Jak’s Bakery (the U.S. iteration), got our start out of the Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center (BMNECC) in Homestead seven years ago.

But before Jak rolled any Kifla or threw any banitsa dough there, our family joined as members for the language and dance school, the community, and the fun. Our kids have been learning Bulgarian folk dancing since preschool, and Molly has been trying to keep up ever since.

Friday, May 1st we will all perform at the BMNECC. Doors and dinner at 7, show at 8. This fundraising helps our ensembles travel to dance all over the world 🌎

Tickets in advance or at the door: https://showclix.com/event/upclosewithotetspaissii

This show brings the exciting rhythms, energetic dancing and beautiful costumes and voices of the Otets Paissii Performing Folk Ensemble down from the stage and directly to the audience. Great food, great entertainment and great community come together in Homestead at the Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center.

We will also enjoy the spirited songs and dances of our special guest group, the young performers from the Bulgarian School “Otets Paissii”!

Drinks and Bulgarian food available for purchase pre-show, 7pm
Show starts at 8pm

Tickets:
$15 Non-member adult
$10 Member adult
$5 Kids under 12
FREE for kids under 4

Back on the shelves!

After much delay in sourcing a key ingredient, fresh batches of Sharena (SHAH-ren-ah) Salt are all packed and labeled and ready to head to upcoming farmers markets. You can also grab a jar in the bakery, of course, but only while supplies last.
