I haven’t updated in a while - we are officially 1 week post-op from our second surgery! This surgery was the reconstruction of my left foot/ankle.

It’s been a rough week — I can’t even sugar coat that (as much as I’d love to). But we are learning to re-navigate life with the opposite leg being down this time around. I got my hard cast today — so I’m hoping for a much better week this week.

Our timeline is as follows -
10/14 — I get a new cast.
11/2-11/4 — I will get in a walking boot that week at some point, which means more mobility after being limited for 6 weeks 🙌🏻

WE WILL RESUME TAKING NEW ORDERS for all of November 🙌🏻 I will still keep myself somewhat limited while transitioning back into regular life again. But we will be back for the holidays 🙌🏻 All of my November/December birthday clients — please reach out! I cannot wait to start baking again!

Official update!

We are making progress!

Surgery is 1 of 3 is finally done and we are home!

Today my surgeon excised the cat bite wound on my ankle and surgically closed it.

In 3 weeks (9/21) she will go back in and do the right foot reconstruction! So excited to be finally moving forward with this journey!

Life / Surgery / Medical update time —

Sadly the long awaited surgery on my ankle did not happen this past Monday like originally planned — back at the end of June, I got a cat bite/scratch on my surgery ankle, and 7.5 weeks later, it is still not healed. We have now been seeing a wound care doctor for a few weeks, and surgery is rescheduled for 9/1 (fingers crossed this continues to heal as it is and I get cleared for surgery — my surgeon doesn’t want to do surgery until it is healed so this way we aren’t trapping the healing wound under a cast — which is totally fair) in the mean time, Ive been in a lot more physical pain, and I’m beyond ready for time off and rest… because even being in pain generally doesn’t stop me too much unless I know I’m gonna be walking a lot.

Here’s to hoping the next few weeks go by quickly and we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming soon!
