Life / Surgery / Medical update time —
Sadly the long awaited surgery on my ankle did not happen this past Monday like originally planned — back at the end of June, I got a cat bite/scratch on my surgery ankle, and 7.5 weeks later, it is still not healed. We have now been seeing a wound care doctor for a few weeks, and surgery is rescheduled for 9/1 (fingers crossed this continues to heal as it is and I get cleared for surgery — my surgeon doesn’t want to do surgery until it is healed so this way we aren’t trapping the healing wound under a cast — which is totally fair) in the mean time, Ive been in a lot more physical pain, and I’m beyond ready for time off and rest… because even being in pain generally doesn’t stop me too much unless I know I’m gonna be walking a lot.
Here’s to hoping the next few weeks go by quickly and we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming soon!
