Ambered Cookies is looking for a local cake pop maker to collaborate with us on a very special project for Down Syndrome Awareness Month this October!

The collaborator we had originally planned to work with is no longer available, so we're opening the opportunity back up.

We are primarily looking for someone who can make a really delicious Cookies & Cream cake pop. There’s a special reason for that flavor. 💛 Our granddaughter is the inspiration behind this project, and one of her absolute favorite treats is an ice cream sandwich. Cookies & Cream felt like the closest cake-pop version of something she already loves—and we want this collaboration to feel like her from beginning to end.

One little thing that makes me feel like I’m winning 🏅 at life: 39 Mason jars filled, measured, and ready to go.

Whenever we can, we choose not to store or pack our ingredients and products in plastic. We buy ingredients packaged in paper or glass when that option is available, and when something does come to us in plastic, we transfer it to reusable glass containers for longer-term storage whenever it makes sense.

Is our kitchen completely plastic-free? NOPE! Sometimes there simply isn’t another practical option.

But as a nurse, I’ve always been conscious of what our food comes into contact with—and as a small business owner, I’m conscious of how much waste a business can create.

So we do what we can, where we can.

Today, that looked like 39 Mason jars lined up in the bakehouse, filled with dry mixes that are already measured and ready for baking.

It’s a small thing. But 39 little glass jars instead of 39 plastic bags feels pretty damn good. 🤎
