We made another barrel cake! This time, this guy is made with just buttercream icing. No fondant was used for texture. We hand scratched the wood design into the icing and then painted with food coloring to give some dimension and texture.
Honestly, I’m super impressed with how this turned out. I had my doubts when I started but it came out beautifully! Just goes to show how much 10+ years of doing this can improve skill and trust in yourself. So if you’re just starting out, keep doing it!!

We are looking for a motivated person who can work 8 am to 3pm Monday through Friday. Job would be mostly on your feet throughout the day. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must have an Oregon Food Safety Card and be able to follow good food safety practices such as hand washing and personal hygiene.
Job duties would include:
- [ ] Helping customers & using the cash register and counting back change
- [ ] Using a flat top grill to cook breakfast items
- [ ] Making lunch sandwiches
- [ ] Prep work such as washing & chopping vegetables, slicing meat, scooping cookies, etc.
- [ ] Clean up such as wiping down tables, sweeping & moping, etc.
- [ ] Some light baking such as putting scones, and cookies in the oven.
This position does very little baking but after some time may progress to some baking training.
Starting pay is minimum wage.

We have been having some issues with our phone lines the last few days. We get your call but then we can’t hear you, and it only happens to about 40% of our phone calls. We are working with Sparklight to hopefully resolve it. Please be patient with us as we try and get it figured out!

These 2 amazing kids have worked so hard for the last 2 years on their dairy replacement heifer projects. They just so happen to also be my kids as well. Wyatt won grand champion dairy heifer with his jersey and Beth won reserve champion with her Holstein. Both of these heifers are bred and ready to calve and are up for sale tomorrow at the fairgrounds.
So many kids have worked so hard with their animals in an effort to raise money for their future. Come out and support them! The sale starts at 10am in the beef arena. You have a chance to bid on steers, dairy, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, and rabbits.
P.S. Our fabulous employee Chelsey Daniels is selling a pen of rabbits and it is her last fair!

A Quinceañera cake and cupcake setup from a couple weeks ago! A 3 tiered vintage style navy blue cake and 17 dozen cupcakes to pair with it! What the photos fail to show is the insane amount of edible glitter to make it sparkle (and I’m still cleaning up around the bakery)
