Dolly Parton has always been such an important part of my life—an idol, an icon, and the kind of woman every little girl can look up to and aspire to be.
She showed us that a woman could be strong and soft, glamorous and humble, successful and generous. She never made herself smaller to make others more comfortable. She dreamed big, worked hard, loved deeply, gave freely, and stayed unapologetically true to who she was.
My sister and I had the joy of visiting Nashville a couple of times and experiencing some of the places that celebrated Dolly and her incredible legacy. Those memories mean even more to me today. Her sign hangs in my shop every single day—a reminder of the amazing woman she was and the example she set for all of us: “It’s hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world.”
They say well-behaved women rarely make history, and Dolly certainly made hers—with grace, grit, kindness, humor, and plenty of sparkle. She taught generations of women and girls that you can come from humble beginnings and still build a life bigger than your wildest dreams—without ever forgetting where you came from.
Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the lessons, and the beautiful example you gave us all. The world won’t shine quite as brightly without you, but your light will live on forever. 💗✨
