If you haven't been to The Down-Leau , they're pretty awesome people!
Today’s post has nothing to do with coffee, or pastries, or paninis. But I do hope you’ll read it, and maybe it’ll resonate 🫶
Working day-in and day-out at a small town coffee shop gives me such a unique lens into the little moments of people’s days; good days, bad days, and “every day” days that maybe aren’t so remarkable. As the days of August creep to a close, there’s an anxious air of getting ready for schedules to change, squeezing in everything last minute and rushing to do all the things before some approaching deadline.
September is coming - school is starting; it’s inevitable. I see the flutter in your eye when you gesture for the biggest size cup or ask for an extra shot of espresso to help the never ending energy drain you’re feeling. I see so many kind folks pouring their all into their families, friends and this community. Trying to make sure every detail is remembered, nothing left forgotten; holding ourselves to a higher standard than we’d ever expect from anyone we love.
Today, I wanted to post to remind you that it’s okay to slow down; to do something for joy and not function. Find the whimsy even in the chaotic crazy busy. A perfect home isn’t spotlessly clean; it’s full of love and comfort. People don’t love you for how clean your home is or that your car is always spotless. 💖 you deserve kindness, warmth, and authenticity in this season and in every season! Try to be the friend to yourself that you are to others; allowing yourself grace. There is space for you and your uniqueness - on your good days, bad days, and especially on the relatively unremarkable days! You’ve got this!!
