My boss/uncle (buncle?) had a special request for a Husker party this afternoon: pumpkin turnovers. Unfortunately for me (but fortunate for you) he only wanted 8 of them.

I really didn't want a bunch of this pumpkin filling sitting around, so I polished off what was left and made an extra dozen for the store!

South O Only! Spiced Pumpkin Turnovers! (Not "pumpkin spice, " Spiced Pumpkin.)

Take pumpkin puree, add a pile of brown sugar, a bunch of pumpkin pie spices, and bake it in a puff pastry. Frost it, then sprinkle some more nutmeg on top. Good stuff!

$2.50 each! Come on in and grab one or five!

Friday, September 25! One day only! Bohemian Rye is coming back! Both locations!

It is a sourdough bread, and is more rye-y than our regular Sourdough Rye, but less dense. It's made with both whole fennel and caraway seed, and I'll be adding dill w**d as well!

To give you an idea of a good use for this bread, it's probably the best bread we make for a classic pastrami on rye.

I just took out of the oven the last batch of Sourdough White bread that I'll be making for the foreseeable future. This is great bread for BLTs especially but is truly very versatile.

South O today, Pacific St tomorrow.

On Saturday, Aug 8, both locations will have our Sourdough White bread on special! I haven't made this in about 2 years.

Perfect loaves for the BLTs that I know you've been thinking about lately. And, as was pointed out in my last post, Avocado Toast! I'm a little embarrassed my millennial self missed on that one.
