Today we made some truly enormous challahs for a special request (joint bat mitzvah celebration). By request, one was frosted and sprinkled.

This is in addition to the 75 mini ones we also made.

It was a bit of a challenge to find something big enough to load them into the ovens but we made it work.

Look at this TEAM!

Six years ago, it was me in my garage.

Three years ago, it was me in a shared kitchen.

Two years ago, it was me, Lauren Lauren and then Serena H-H in the shared kitchen.

About a year ago, Jamie Kuhn joined us.

Then Juan joined us.

Then coaster cookies joined us.

Then we moved to our own kitchen in Novato.

Then ⚡️👁🦋👁⚡️ and Olivia Muratori and johnny.gramm and Stephen Newman and Ruby Loe joined us.

This doesn't even count market folks (Madeline, Alex, Anna, June, Michele, Will, and more)

It is INCREDIBLE what we have built together.

Also, HUGE appreciation and love for my favorite person in the world Shari Tishman for EVERYTHING that you don't see that makes this place work.

Next up in our SUMMER MAGIC series:
Garden Fruit Square!

This one is very special for me, personally. The fruit for this pastry come from two trees in my front yard that my son and I planted when he was an infant.

The figs are just starting and I pick them with the kids in the evenings. The nectarines are from a "fruit salad" tree we have that has apricots, plums, nectarines, and peaches all grafted onto one root stock. It blows our minds every summer.

These just picked fruits sit on a vanilla bean mascarpone mousse that kind of tastes like a mix of ice cream and cheesecake. It's pretty delicious. We once gave someone an entire pint of it on request.

We drizzle it with local Marshall’s Farm | Bay Area Raw Honey and sprinkle it with raw pumpkin seeds. Finally it gets a few flowers from the market and teeny tiny leaves from the lemon verbena plant my family gifted me when we moved into our own kitchen.

So yeah, this one means a lot to me.

I hope you love them.
