Nothing Bundt Cakes To find the perfect recipe, you first need the perfect ingredients. And that's what our founders Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz were for each other.

In 1997, they joined forces, or better yet kitchens, to help make cakes to entertain their friends. The cakes they made were delicious, unlike anything anyone had tasted. As a result, their friends and family asked them to entertain more and more. They quickly realized this side project of theirs could be something more. There was a gap in the world for delicious cakes, readily available, that did

n't compromise on their ingredients. Fresh eggs, real butter, and real cream cheese; nothing was too good to achieve perfection. And perfection are those decadent, slowly melting bites, we all know and love. Flash forward and the Nothing Bundt Cakes brand has grown nationwide. Built on Dena and Debbie's vision, each bakery still has the warmth and nostalgia of its home-kitchen roots, but they also take a modern approach for the world today.

Founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Derak and Anita Green, Cooking with Greens began as lively Facebook cooking shows and quickly grew into a nationally recognized culinary brand. Through daily videos, cookbooks, and social media, their mission is to make healthy, flavorful home cooking simple and accessible. In 2024, Derak appeared on FOX’s MasterChef and the couple opened their first retail shop in Selden Marketplace in Norfolk, Virginia, featuring handcrafted spice blends, cookware, and interactive cooking experiences.

"Golessthan (on Facebook & Instagram) is a zero waste + refill shop located in Ghent. We specialize in eco-friendly sustainable alternatives to everyday goods that are great for people through simple, natural ingredients and great for the planet with packaging that is either recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, or reusable. Our refill station allows guests to buy liquid and dry goods by the ounce. We encourage our guest to bring their own containers even if it’s plastic. Our goal is to help people produce less waste than before."

While Less Than will continue to operate as your go-to refill shop, the long-term vision is for this new venue—called Ceremony—to become a full-fledged neighborhood non-alcoholic bar with a focus on quality drinks, community events and an evolving food program.

Your new sweet treat destination has arrived! Inside Scoop Cereal Treats & More on Colonial Ave is Norfolk’s first cereal-infused ice cream shop, blending creativity, nostalgia, and DIY fun in every scoop. Opened in June 2024 by Starla King and fiancé who is born and raised in Norfolk, the couple wanted to bring love and dessert to the neighborhood.

The General Public's Chef General Lewis discovered his passion for cooking at home with his mother before refining his skills at Tallahassee Community College. After honing his craft in American and French cuisine at Laurel Creek Country Club and earning top honors in a Chef’s Challenge as head chef of Bally’s Casino Diamond Club in Atlantic City, he continued to build his reputation in Philadelphia, leading kitchens such as J.L. Sullivan’s and the renowned Warmdaddy’s. Seeking greater opportunity, he moved to Virginia, securing multiple city contracts, catering high-profile events, and operating cafés including Dockside Café at Nauticus. In 2023, he opened a second location in downtown Norfolk, earning rave reviews for his fresh, from-scratch cuisine and creative flair—proof that for Chef General, this is only the beginning.
