Hard post incoming… 😪

I just had to cancel on someone’s last minute order because of mistake after mistake, rushing for time and overall it just not working out.

The order was placed 2 days ago and I had put it in my calendar and went on my way to fulfill the other orders I already had booked previously. When it came time to decorate these, the icing was not setting (recipe error)- of course when you rush, mistakes happen. 😭 then there was just no time to remedy the issue further in my kitchen today before their deadline. Especially not at the expense of the other clients’ orders that were placed in advance.

I’m my own worst critic, but I know I genuinely messed this up. And knowing that I disappointed someone and inconvenienced their time weighs so heavy. 😔

I absolutely HATE that this happened! In this case, I completely refunded the order (and tip- which was so generous of the client!)
And also offered a free dozen cookies or a free cake in the future. There is nothing I can do to make up for time lost in this case.

I guess I’m just posting to own up to my mistakes, take accountability, and vent a little.

Thanks for reading and being here. Thank you to everyone that continues to support my small business. Once in a great while, S*** hits the fan and I’m not able to recover from it.

Yes, yes, I know. I’m all about the custom sugar cookies. But I actually love decorating cakes just as much! This was a Moana-inspired birthday cake for a special girl who just turned 6 🌊🌺🌀🏝️
