To My Bookworms,
This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write.
After much thought, reflection, and many conversations with myself, I have made the difficult decision to close The Literary Oven effective immediately.
When I started The Literary Oven, I was a young Black woman with a dream, a whisk in one hand, a book in the other, and far more ambition than experience. What began as a simple idea grew into something I never could have imagined. Through every order, every market, every late night, every recipe test, and every kind message, you helped transform a dream into a reality.
To every person who purchased a treat, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, stopped by our table, or simply cheered us on from afar, thank you. You gave life to something that meant so much to me.
The Literary Oven was never just about baked goods. It was about creating a space where stories, creativity, comfort, and community could come together. It allowed me to explore my passions, build confidence as an entrepreneur, and learn lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
As a recent college graduate, I am entering a new chapter. I want to dedicate my time and energy toward opportunities more closely aligned with my degree in English and my continued pursuit of learning, writing, publishing, and professional growth. While this decision was not easy, I know it is the right one for this season of my life.
Please know that this is not goodbye to baking.
Baking will always be a part of who I am. If you'd like to keep up with me, follow my personal page, . I will continue sharing my journey, and who knows, there may be occasional flash sales, recipe adventures, and sweet surprises along the way. Just not on the scale of The Literary Oven.
To everyone who believed in me, thank you for allowing me to dream out loud. Thank you for supporting a young Black woman who dared to build something of her own. Thank you for every lesson, every memory, and every ounce of encouragement.
The ovens may be cooling, but my story is far from over.
