STORY TIME:

So...

One of my fav clients sent a pic of the most adorable lil cake topper that she ordered for her birthday girl (swipe ➡️ for a looksie). I usually design the birthday cakes around these cake toppers.

However, when I heard that the equally adorable birthday girl actually picked out a picture of a cake that she really liked...

well...

I kinda sorta broke my own "no copying pics of other cakes" rule and I kinda sorta ALMOST copied said cake that the most adorable birthday girl picked out because...

honestly, I don't know why I did... I just did, ok?

Don't judge me.

I've been making this kiddo's birthday cakes since she turned a year old. She just turned five. 😭

And I've known her momma since she was just a teeny bopper back in Washington.

So yeah.

I guess my little heart just melted when I heard she really liked a certain picture of a cake she found.

What can I say.

Imma sucker.

HOWEVER...

My cake was gonna be just a tad bit better.

Why you ask?

Because the little fishes on the inspo pic didn't have eyeballs.

for reals 😆

It really really REALLY bothered lil Aubrey that there were eyeball-less fishes on that cake

like WTF

She could not wrap her lil brain around WHY you would not give the fishies eyeballs. Everyone knows FISHIES HAVE EYEBALLS. Even a five year old knows that.

The sheer audacity I tell ya.

So yeah. My fishies were gonna have eyeballs.

Which means my cake was gonna be just a tad bit better.
