FAQ:

1) How do I order? Facebook Messenger or the email in my contact information are both fine. We will have a conversation about what your vision is for your dessert. I will get you on my calendar and keep you updated with progress as I work on your project. Then,

you come to my house, pull into the drive, and I help you secure your treats!

2) How do I pay you? I ask for a 30% deposit for custom orders at time of booking. This will be refunded if I, for whatever reason, am unable to fulfill your order (but I work hard to stay healthy and avoid those conflicts!). The remaining 70% is due upon receipt of your products. Cash and Venmo are the only payment methods I accept currently.

3)Do you ship? I am unable to ship at this time, per cottage food law in Minnesota. Orders are for pickup, or for local delivery/meetup only.

4) Can you make me a cheesecake? Cheesecake, custards, tres leches cake, dipped fruits, and other potentially hazardous foods are not allowed under my registration. Other foods are subject to water activity and pH parameters and may be lab tested.

5) Can you make [grandma’s signature dessert]? It never hurts to ask. :) I have binders of recipes from multiple grandmas, old church cookbooks, and the internet to re-create old memories.

6) Do you do discounts? I occasionally need to find good homes for products that I have been tweaking recipes and flavors for. Trial runs (Thea’s Creative Kitchen) will be sold at cost for materials and are limited in their customization.

7) I have food allergies. Can you safely accommodate those? Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee zero cross contact to common allergens at this time. I can pass on requests to a network of other cottage food producers who may have their own kitchens set up to be gluten or allergen free.

8) What do you make? Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, seasonal fruit pies, lefse, scones, soft pretzels, jams and jellies, salsas, pickles

9) Do you share recipes? It never hurts to ask. If I got it for free off the internet or a public domain cookbook, I can direct you to it.

10) Tell me about this Christmas cookie box. In November, I will post a list of this year’s holiday cookies, along with the anticipated bake and pick up dates, and the price. You message me, we talk details, and we get a pick up scheduled. You drive up at the scheduled time, I bring your cookies out and double check payment methods, we make brief small talk about the upcoming holidays, and when you get home, you set out your cookies on the table and enjoy!

Fandoms are the best. I love the details that stick in our minds about the stories and characters! Now if someone asks me to do a cake theme to match a certain space western that is getting a reboot, I will be over the moon.

Mother's Day is coming up!

I finally had a day open to do a little playing around in the kitchen and made one of the cakes from my baking bucket list- the raised garden bed. I would like to offer a chocolate hazelnut version (chocolate cake with hazelnut wafer cookies, chocolate hazelnut filling, and crushed sandwich cookie "dirt") and a coconut pineapple version (coconut cake, pineapple filling, coconut wafer cookies, crushed speculoos cookies for dirt) for Mother's Day. They will be topped with a combination of royal icing and buttercream flowers. Cake measures about 9"x5"x3.5".Pre-order only, $35

I also had a chance to get my full sized, non-holiday bundt collection photographed and organized. Bundt pans work great for pound cakes and dense cakes like my chocolate bundt cake. Mother's Day bundt cake pre-orders $30.

Guess who will be at Heidi's GrowHaus & Lifestyle Gardens with scones, cookies, orange cinnamon rolls and cake slices on May 2nd?!? It will be close to fresh rhubarb time, so I may not have fresh rhubarb jam, but I have a few jars left from the 2025 season that I will be bringing. :)

Pound cake (this example is lemon) is always a good idea, and generally I am up for baking on short notice. The same goes for scones.

Birthday and special occasion cakes can be as simple and elegant or as one of a kind as your celebration. I appreciate as much advance notice as possible for custom cakes- at least a week, more if there are custom toppers, decorations, or printed icing sheets to order, or if it is a busy celebration season. December is heavy on holiday parties, June is big for graduation parties and weddings, and birthdays (per my last few years of cake order data) seem to be more heavily concentrated in January, March, and October.

Cake! It's what's for... breakfast? No judgment here.

Introducing the newest cake and cupcake flavor, inspired by my friend Anne: honey citrus! I'm partial to orange and honey, but honey lemon and honey ginger are delightful too. There is no granulated sugar in these- it is all honey.
