FAQ:
1) How do I order? Facebook Messenger or the email in my contact information are both fine. We will have a conversation about what your vision is for your dessert. I will get you on my calendar and keep you updated with progress as I work on your project. Then,
you come to my house, pull into the drive, and I help you secure your treats!
2) How do I pay you? I ask for a 30% deposit for custom orders at time of booking. This will be refunded if I, for whatever reason, am unable to fulfill your order (but I work hard to stay healthy and avoid those conflicts!). The remaining 70% is due upon receipt of your products. Cash and Venmo are the only payment methods I accept currently.
3)Do you ship? I am unable to ship at this time, per cottage food law in Minnesota. Orders are for pickup, or for local delivery/meetup only.
4) Can you make me a cheesecake? Cheesecake, custards, tres leches cake, dipped fruits, and other potentially hazardous foods are not allowed under my registration. Other foods are subject to water activity and pH parameters and may be lab tested.
5) Can you make [grandma’s signature dessert]? It never hurts to ask. :) I have binders of recipes from multiple grandmas, old church cookbooks, and the internet to re-create old memories.
6) Do you do discounts? I occasionally need to find good homes for products that I have been tweaking recipes and flavors for. Trial runs (Thea’s Creative Kitchen) will be sold at cost for materials and are limited in their customization.
7) I have food allergies. Can you safely accommodate those? Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee zero cross contact to common allergens at this time. I can pass on requests to a network of other cottage food producers who may have their own kitchens set up to be gluten or allergen free.
8) What do you make? Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, seasonal fruit pies, lefse, scones, soft pretzels, jams and jellies, salsas, pickles
9) Do you share recipes? It never hurts to ask. If I got it for free off the internet or a public domain cookbook, I can direct you to it.
10) Tell me about this Christmas cookie box. In November, I will post a list of this year’s holiday cookies, along with the anticipated bake and pick up dates, and the price. You message me, we talk details, and we get a pick up scheduled. You drive up at the scheduled time, I bring your cookies out and double check payment methods, we make brief small talk about the upcoming holidays, and when you get home, you set out your cookies on the table and enjoy!
