This little monster made its grand entrance at a Halloween party a couple years back and let me tell you it did not come to play.
What started as a “quick little idea” turned into a full-blown edible creature feature. It took a long time to assemble, but the DETAILS? Oh honey… the details were on point.
The mouth alone was a whole operation a mix of peanuts for teeth, red food color, and a little cake slime to give it that perfect creepy shine. And yes… that tongue! Hand‑sculpted from modeling chocolate and absolutely living its best spooky life.
Every inch of this cake was either hand‑painted or airbrushed, layer by layer, until it looked like it might actually blink at me. I swear it was staring. When it hit the dessert table, people stopped mid‑conversation. Kids pointed. Adults leaned in. Someone whispered, “Is it… looking at me?”

Mission accomplished.

Halloween cakes aren’t just desserts — they’re characters.
And this one?
This one understood the assignment.

Afternoon, friends!
Listen… I fully admit I get so wrapped up in whatever chaos I’m creating that I forget to post here. Classic me. But anyway hi, hello, I’m back.
So, I’ve officially entered my Walmart Creator Era, where I show y’all the things I’m buying, thinking about buying, or pretending I’m organized enough to buy. Meanwhile, over at Casa de DIY, we’ve been knee‑deep in projects that were supposed to take “an afternoon” and are now entering their third fiscal quarter.
And yes… I know I need to get back on my cake game and recipe posting. Trust me, my mixer is looking at me like I abandoned it.

But tonight?
Tonight I made Mexican Stew with fresh jalapeños and onions straight from the garden. Not cake… but listen, it was giving “chef who has her life together,” so I’m counting it as a win.
Honestly, I feel like I’ve been everywhere and nowhere at the same time. ADHD said, “Let’s do ALL the things… but also forget half of them.” So, I’ve decided I’m making myself a schedule. A real one. With reminders. And maybe alarms. And possibly a small prayer.
Anyway, thanks for sticking with me through the chaos. I promise I’m fun to watch. Once I get going 😂🤣

Frosting a cake smooth is basically a trust exercise between me, the spatula, and my patience. 🤣🎂
You start out confident… spinning that turntable like you’re on a baking show. Then suddenly there’s one tiny spot that won’t smooth out, so you fix it… which creates another spot… then another… and before you know it you’re emotionally arguing with buttercream at 10am. 😂
But when that frosting finally gets smooth like glass? Whew. That feeling right there is why cake decorators keep doing this crazy stuff. 🙌
