☀️ Summer Schedule Update ☀️

Hi friends! As we head into summer, I wanted to share a quick update for County Line Bakehouse.

Over the next few months, I’ll be moving to a limited summer baking schedule. Between family time, summer activities, travel, hosting several guests and all the extra rhythms this season brings, bake days may look a little different from month to month.

I’ve found this slower summer pace creates a better balance for our family while still allowing me to keep the bakery running and continue sharing fresh sourdough with you all. 🤍

Because of that, the best way to stay in the loop will be to:

Putting the finishing touches on these red, white & blueberry scones

A sweet drizzle, freeze dried strawberries, and so much gratitude for the customer who dreamed these up. loved bringing this idea to life and I truly hope you all love them as much as I loved making them!

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I’m also taking a moment to remember what this holiday is really about: honoring and remembering the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. I’m grateful for their sacrifice and wishing everyone a safe, meaningful, and restful weekend with the people you love. 🇺🇸

This sourdough step is called stitching

By folding and stitching the dough, I’m creating surface tension that helps the loaf hold its shape and rise up tall in the oven instead of spreading out flat. It’s one of those simple but important steps that gives sourdough that beautiful bakery-style height and structure

My youngest daughter watched me doing this and said, “You’re tucking in your bread for the day.” 🥹 And now that’s exactly what it feels like every time.

At County Line Bakehouse, “sourdough” means true sourdough.

Every product I make from sourdough bread to focaccia, scones, cookies, and more is made with a long, slow fermentation process (typically 24 hours or more). I don’t just add sourdough discard to a regular recipe and call it sourdough.

Long fermentation helps break down gluten and phytic acid, supports digestion, and allows the grains to become more nutrient accessible. It also creates the flavor and texture that make real sourdough special.

I care deeply about what I’m feeding my own family, and I want the same quality and intention behind the food I make for yours. 🤍

I’m taking next week off to soak up all the sweet chaos of Mother’s Day, end-of-school, doctors appointments, and getting the rest of my garden planted (I see fresh tomatoes and lettuce for sourdough BLT’s in my future!)

Thank you all so much for supporting CLB and allowing me this time with my family.
My next menu will drop Thursday 5/21, and I’m already planning for Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸

So far, I know jalapeño cheddar loaves are making the menu because they pair SO well with BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and of course my signature brown butter chocolate chip cookies will be back for sharing at cookouts and family gatherings…
