Hello everyone! It just crossed my mind that I never introduced myself to all of you. And I know there are quite a few of you that I don’t know personally. So, I figured I’d tell you a little bit about myself! 🫶🏻
My name is Myla Stilarian. Formerly known as Myla Illian, but last October, I married the love of my life Dawson. We decided we were going to combine our last names to create a new one! We didn’t want to hyphenate, so we took letters from both and made something that felt unique and meaningful to us.
I would consider myself to be a creative person. I love to sing, dance, paint, and do all the artsy things. When I was younger, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. None of the normal paths people usually take seemed to call to me. For a long while, I tried to start my own photography business. I LOVED taking photos for people and making them come to life; I still do. I am so so grateful to every single person who ever booked with me and let me capture precious memories for them to keep forever😊 but, it never really grew beyond a couple sessions a year. At the time, I was discouraged, but now I know it was because I was supposed to be doing something else! 🍪
I am definitely a plant enthusiast🌿My house is filled with plants on every surface I can fit them. I really do try my best to keep them alive, but that is definitely not my strong suit yet. If I can keep them in water though, they are thriving!! Haha.
I absolutely love all things cozy. Cuddling up on the couch with a good book or watching a movie are some of my favorite ways to spend my free time. Put a fantasy/romance book in front of me and I probably won’t talk for hours🤣 also, fall/spring are my favorite times of the year. I love when it’s slightly chilly outside : not too cold and not too hot! That means I get to wear all of my crewnecks and leggings which adds to the coziness haha.
Right now, Dawson and I are the parents of some wonderful pets. We have Oreo; our black and white kitty you may see wandering by our house if you come to the bakery shed. Feel free to give him pets! He loves attention hehe. We have two dogs: Nola, she is our sweet girl who thinks she is a lap dog but is almost 60 lbs. And Loki, he is our crazy little chunky corgi mix with an attitude haha. We also have a beta fish named Draco, and some chickens in the back yard! Don’t worry though, they don’t get to come into the kitchen. They have their own areas in the house😊
Believe it or not, I am NOT a morning person. I love my sleep and wrapping myself up in warm blankets. Since starting this bakery though, I have had to start waking up around 5 a.m. on bake days just to have enough time to get everything done! While it’s not my favorite thing in the world, I would have it no other way! This job brings me so much happiness and purpose💕 I finally feel like I’m doing what I am supposed to! Little Myla would be so proud to see all the things she has accomplished. And I’m so proud of her for never giving up, even when things got hard. It brings me so much joy to share something I love with others, and I’m truly grateful to have the opportunity to spread a little happiness, and full bellies, to my customers😊😋
