Some guidance for those who bought sourdough starter...

Feed your starter flour and water only! The starter is healthiest if you feed it often and refresh it often which means you discard most of the old stuff and feed it/build it back up again.

To build the starter up to make bread... Measure, by weight, add that much water and that much flour. For example if you have 2 oz of starter, you need to add 2 oz of water and 2 oz of flour to equal 6 oz of starter... Stir to mix thoroughly and let it sit out until its bubbly and then you can build it up some more by weighing it and adding that much flour and water again and again until you have enough to make your recipe and some extra to save for next time. Feed the starter again and then refrigerate it to keep it until the next time you use it. It can last about a week until it needs to be fed again and/or made into bread with the above process repeating.
