Last week I had the opportunity to present at Lansing High School’s Career & Community Day and talk about my journey as an entrepreneur.
I shared how success rarely follows a straight line. I talked about starting college wanting to become a teacher, switching to communications, working in banking, and eventually teaching myself cookie decorating and turning a creative hobby into a business.
More than anything, I wanted the students to know that it’s okay to not have everything figured out right now. Life changes, goals shift, and sometimes the path you end up loving most is the one you never planned for. The ability to adapt, take chances, and keep learning matters so much more than having a perfect plan.
…, And of course I ended my classes with a fun cookie decorating activity!! I’m so grateful for the chance to share my story and hopefully encourage a few students to trust their own journey - even if it looks different than expected. 💙💛
Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event! 🐾
