A Pennsylvania-Dutch staple when it comes to homemade desserts; shoofly pie is a molasses-forward treat with three distinct textures:
Coffee-cake-like top, ooey-gooey molasses filling, and an all butter crust that adds a crispness to the whole experience.

Of course, this is just our take! Local family traditions can dictate the shortening and the level of gooeyness!
