’Twas the night before going live on FOX 13, and all through Polk County, more than 119 women were proving what can happen when we choose to believe in one another.

Tonight, I keep looking at this Confidence Closet trailer and thinking about how much it has in common with our community.

Not long ago, they were both simply ideas. We could see what they might become before anyone else could.

And then, we started building.

Piece by piece. Rack by rack. Woman by woman.

There were obstacles, closed doors and moments when the vision felt bigger than what we had in front of us. But we kept going because a “no” does not always mean never. Sometimes, it simply means not yet.

Today, this trailer carries more than clothing. It carries confidence, dignity and the reminder that every woman deserves to feel seen.

And this community carries something just as powerful.

More than 119 women building businesses, forming genuine relationships, opening doors for one another and making an impact throughout Polk County.

I’m proud of the businesses growing because of connections made here. I’m proud of the friendships forming. I’m proud of every woman who chose to show up and become part of something bigger.

Tomorrow, we get to share a piece of our story with FOX 13.

But we are still just getting started.

So dream bigger than what feels reasonable. Keep building, even when others cannot see the vision yet. And never be afraid to bet on what you know is possible.

As for Polk County Women Mean Business?

1 member or 100… who’s counting?! 🤣🎉

Shoutout to Erica Rice for being number 100! 🎉 In true Lu & Jessica fashion, we somehow managed to put the numbers on backwards in our celebratory video… 😂

But whether it’s 1 or 100, we’re celebrating every single woman who has taken a chance on Polk County Women Mean Business.

To be completely honest, we thought we’d be fighting to reach 15 members.

We hoped we’d hit 50 by the end of 2026.

Instead… here we are celebrating 100 incredible women who believed in this community.

The truth is, what makes a community great isn’t what happens during our meetings. It’s what happens between them.

It’s the coffee meetups, the referrals, the encouragement, the collaborations and the women who generously share their skills, talents and experience to lift one another up. That’s what makes this community so special. 💗

We also owe so much to our incredible community hub, COhatch in Downtown Lakeland. Partnering with you has been such a level up for our organization and has allowed us to blossom into so much more than we ever imagined. Adrianna and Michelle, thank you for believing in us and supporting this vision. 💕 COhatch

We’re just getting started.

🚀 We’ll officially be celebrating our 100-member milestone at our July 30th morning meeting, and we’d love to celebrate with you. Be there!
