One of the things I love most about creating new cookies is taking a simple idea and seeing where it goes.

For this cookie I knew I wanted to create something with lemon, but I didn’t want it to feel like it belonged to just one season.

I’m always going for rich and comforting flavors, but this one needed a little zest, if you will.

So I started playing with fresh lemon, creamy white chocolate, and buttery macadamias…

And here we are — this cookie came to life.

I knew I wanted it to be part of my shipping boxes because I wanted to send something to stir up some of those warm flavors I had going on. This one feels bright and classy, so it had to make the cut!

I hope you’ll give it a try! 🍋

If you have visited my website recently, you might have noticed a little message regarding a new homepage is coming! I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes structuring a website that is user-friendly and also highlights all the wonderful things happening at Gretchen’s Bakery. 👏🏻 I am in no way tech-smart so this has been a learning process that has taken longer than I anticipated lol. 😂 😅 Lots of back and forth with a website professional and then taking it on myself to finish up some details. I believe things work all together in perfect timing so patience has been needed. I appreciate all the help I’ve received along the way! Now that I’ve been able to give it some final touches I will be launching very very soon!! Just have a few glitches I’m working out! See ya soon on the web! 💻 💕

This year started at a slower pace which allowed me to brainstorm behind the scenes.
You can have an idea of where you want to go, but actually figuring out how to get there is a completely different thing.
I’ve been thinking not just about what I want on my menu, but about what I want Gretchen’s Bakery to be known for. 🩷
I spent a lot of time thinking I needed to have the perfect plan before sharing the process.
And now I’m realizing… maybe all the pieces don’t have to be completely locked in before I start sharing what all my brainstorming has been about.
I’ve been giving myself the space to experiment, try new things, i’ve changed my mind, and feeling out what feels right along the way.
I’ve started realizing that the way I approached running my business in its earliest stages doesn’t necessarily need to be applied moving forward. I can try out new things while still being true to myself, my product and business model. Im just going back to the heart of where it all began.
I have bene reflecting a lot on where I’ve been and where Im going and I’m thankful for the lessons learned and the people I’ve met along the way! THIS INCLUDES YOU! 🥰
I’m really enjoying this part of the process of sharing with you. Stay tuned for more coming your way! And of course, thank you for being here! 🙏🏻💕🍪

Hi, friends! I’m making a comeback! 🤍

If you’ve been here for a while, you know I’ve been a little MIA. For some context, I started this year needing a breath of fresh air, so I stepped back and gave myself the space to slow down and explore what the next chapter of Gretchen’s Bakery could look like.

That slower pace gave me room to wrap my head around new creative ideas and concepts, and honestly, taking a step back has been so refreshing and inspiring!

As I start trying a few new things, the bakery might look a little different than what you’re used to—but I’m so excited about where it’s headed.

It felt like the right time to start sharing more again, so I hope you will stick around to see what’s to come! For now, I’m just happy to be back on this platform, sharing more of my sweet bakery journey with you. 🍪🤎
