It's time to reveal... our 2026 Jamestown Farmers Market summer season poster!!!

We're so excited to work with Wendy Bale Art1st for this year's design, featuring her paper cut. As a longtime shopper at the Jamestown Farmers Market, Wendy's design is a tribute to the many individuals who make our market a true community gathering -- you'll see not only the farmers, makers and musicians who contribute to the fabric of JFM, but the visitors and shoppers who make the market part of their week.

Look for these posters to start going up around town -- we can't wait to see you at the market this year! Our kickoff of the summer season is on June 6 at our new location on Third & Pine.

Very interesting NYTimes article on flour in NYS. Shortly NYS is expected to have a ban on bromated flours in NYS. Many other parts of the world already ban bromates in flour as they have been proven to cause cancer.

Begs the question why have we not banned this along time ago. Bromates make baking easier and allow bakers with less developed skills still make good bread. In my journey as a baker I have become convinced bread/pastry/flour/yeast are moody things to work with. Developed skills certainly help but sometimes the best of skills are no match for a moody cranky tub of dough.

I have never cooked with bromate flour. I have always used quality King Arthur flour and now am also using local and organic Farmer Ground Flour.

This is a fight industrial farming, industrial food service and the "baking" business must not win. Did you know that this food ban has to be instituted on state by state process as the feds will not touch this. Don't be fooled by the talk that unbromated flour costs more. It already doesn't in most cases. Please support NYS in this process it isn't even close to overreach and this is what government should do in the face of unhealthy food practices. Look at your bread ingredient labels at Wegmans or Top, or Aldi. Even look at the bread lables at the farmers markets. You should not be eating cancer causing bromates. Its ok for the government to make things better for us all. Sometimes the government is the answer and does good.

Bromated flour, which makes breads and crusts stretchy and springy (and cheap), is among the carcinogens forbidden in pending state legislation.

Slightly overproofed, maybe. Still a nice bake. Arlington Sourdough boule. Made with farmergroundflour. Organic NYS Fingerlakes grown and ground flour. Salted with Syracuse Salt Company salt. Beautiful caramel color, with a moderate sour. I'm partial but you can't go wrong with this loaf.

Starting to think about next weeks market. Local rhubarb is starting to roll in.

Worked on a strawberry rhubarb muffin for the market. Used a corse ground corn meal with the flour that created a perfect hardy crunch in the muffin. Look for these muffins next Saturday at the farmers market.

Receiving new supplies that strengthen our commitment to using and highlighting local and western and central NYS grown and made products. Farmer Ground organic and Finger Lakes grown flours are making up our breads now. Syracuse Salt Company salts will be our salt of choice going forward. Local food for you.

BreadLab {JNY} had a great day at Jamestown Farmers Market on Saturday.

By the end of the market our handcrafted items were gone. We are not just bread...these brown butter blondies with 72%dark chocolate and pretzels was a big hit. That salt and sweet combo.

Thank you to all our friends that came to the Jamestown Farmers Market Winter Market yesterday. It was wonderful to see you all! Your support for our bakery project always fills me with joy. We sold out of bread by 11:30am.

We brought to market yesterday a focaccia with fresh rosemary and salt. Our salt flakes are a special blend from Syracuse Salt Mines. Thanks for all the focaccia love.

I will be baking for pick ups/Jamestown deliveries on Tuesday and Saturday. Message us here if you would like some bread!

A wonderful flour that requires adjustments in portions and recipes. I love the continuous adjustments that comes with baking bread and using sour dough..
