Wide Awake Bakery We bake for you. Thor and Dan, at Oechsner Farms, grow the grains, and the gang at Farmer Ground Flour grind those grains between stones to make our flour.

At the Bakery, we mix and ferment and shape that flour into loaves (pretzels... pastry... pasta)

Dear fellow Bread Lovers— we will be closed tomorrow. We are sorry for the short notice, and thank you for your understanding!!
In the wee hours of the morning today, our 3-Phase electric generator bit the dust. Alas, nearly all the machines (mixers, convection ovens, etc) rely on this electricity. AGH! So, no bread mixed today. No pastry laminated. The works. But, we have a new 3-phase motor already, and we are working hard to get everything ready to rumble. We are planning on being fully open and back in action at the store on Wednesday!! 🎉🤘🎉
While a colossal pain in the butt, this unexpected break down has given us a day to get the bakery and store squeaky clean, do some other delayed repairs, and to reflect on how miraculous it is that things usually go so smoothly at the bakery. So many machines! So many hands! So many minds! We’re feeling grateful for our incredibly flexible and resilient team here, and for you all, for rolling with us!
