Where did May go? We have a couple of things happening before the end of the month! Our coffee cart is headed to Vinyl Cup Records in Des Moines this weekend. Do not fear, Cinnamon Roll Saturday will still be on at HQ. 😉
We will be open with normal hours next Monday for Memorial Day!

Wishing Becca the happiest birthday of birthdays today!

If you have tried our cakes of the week, you have our lovely Becca to thank. The brains behind our rotation of gorgeous (and downright delicious) cakes, curds, and frostings came to us by way of the Toledo, Ohio area, where she grew up on a storybook-like block by a donut shop, an ice cream shop, and a candy store. This Hallmark movie trifecta haped Becca’s early inclinations toward baking and hospitality. Picking up 10-cent bread rolls felt magical, and soon enough Becca found herself in kitchens, where she has remained since high school. She’s run the gamut from upscale dining to deliveries.

In her early days as a delivery driver with STR, Becca even worked as a historical interpreter and head cook at Living History Farms! You could catch her baking in a wood-burning oven in era-accurate garb in the summers and prepping 12-course meals in a Victorian mansion in the winters.

Becca settled in full-time with us a few years ago, and does it all in the back of house— prepping, baking, and general tomfoolery included. She lives for the creative freedom of working at STR, which she says has really helped her hone her baking techniques and grow as a lifelong lover of cakes, breads, and pastries. Outside of work, you can probably find Becca in a hands-on hobby: She sews! She knits! She plays violin in the Des Moines Community Orchestra! This girl’s got it all, and we are so lucky to have her on the team!

Latte Art class- Join Deja and Ashlee to learn how to make the prettiest latte foam masterpieces! tickets available on website. Seats are limited.

Our coffee cart will be up and running at for record store day. Grab a treat, and coffee while browsing the stacks!

Final super club TBD- Two days before Easter, our walk-in broke down, so we’re waiting to gauge repairs before determining the date of what will be our FINAL supper club! Come experience our curated menu and get first access to a big change coming in late May....
