This is what pomelo looks like! Known as “suha” in the Philippines, pomelo is an ancestor of grapefruit, but bigger and sweeter.

The flavor lands somewhere between grapefruit and orange, with floral notes and a clean citrus finish. It’s a bright and refreshing bite of the tropics!

It’s one of those flavors we grew up with but rarely see in American baking, so we put it in a buttery cookie 💛

NEW FLAVOR ALERT! Everyone say Hello, Pomelo! ✨

Pomelo is the sweet, juicy ancestor of grapefruit — bright, a little tangy and unlike anything else in the citrus aisle! In the Philippines, it’s known as “suha.”

We folded it into a buttery cookie base with dried tangerine for a deeper citrus punch and white chips for that creamy finish. Sweet, tangy, a little of bit sunshine in cookie form 🤤

We’ve been getting tons of questions about pandan at our markets recently, so we wanted to show everyone what it looks like!

Pandan is a tropical plant from Southeast Asia with long, blade-like leaves. It is often called the “vanilla of the East” because of its sweet, nutty, aromatic flavor, and is used in both sweet and savory cooking.

Flavor is extracted by bruising, boiling, or blending the leaves to release their oils, and is then strained into extracts or syrups.

In Filipino and Asian cooking, it can show up knotted into rice to add some aroma to it, wrapped around chicken, mixed into buko salad, or baked into a chiffon cake. Try it in some of our classics: Pandan Coconut Cookies, Brown Butter Pandan Blondies, and our housemade Pandan Vanilla Simple Syrup.
