🦌 A little sharpening for a good cause!

I recently sharpened a batch of knives for Doe Patrol, a group of volunteers who donate their time to process venison for charitable shelters.

I was glad to contribute a little of my sharpening skills to help them with their work. These folks give their time and effort to turn donated deer into food for people who need it.

Have a deer to donate? Doe Patrol is accepting deer donations to help keep this worthwhile effort going. If you harvest a deer and would like to help provide food for others, consider donating it to their program. Contact Doe Patrol for details on how to donate.

Tomorrow is the final Allegan Farmers Market of 2026!
I’ll be at the market from 8 AM–2 PM with Rusty Edges Sharpening.
It looks like we’re going to have a pretty nice day for a trip to the market, so come on out, do some shopping, visit the vendors, grab something good to eat—and bring those dull knives, scissors, garden tools, or other cutting tools with you!
Drop your sharpening off with me, enjoy the market, and if I’m not too busy, I’ll do my best to have it ready while you shop.
After tomorrow, the Allegan Farmers Market will be taking its winter break until 2027. So if you've been thinking, “I really need to get that sharpened,” tomorrow is your last market-day opportunity until next season.

This week is a little different as we make the transition from farmers market season to the regular pickup schedule.

Tuesday — Allegan County pickups

There will be no Douglas Farmers Market this Tuesday. The Douglas market is finished for the season and will return in 2027.

But you can still get your sharpening to me through Overisel Lumber in Douglas. Drop your items there for Tuesday pickup, and they’ll have a one-week turnaround.

I’ll also be making my regular Allegan County pickups at:

• Overisel Lumber — Douglas
• Dickinson’s Hardware
• Visser Hardware

Wednesday — Ottawa County pickups

My Ottawa County pickup route will include:

• Overisel Lumber — Holland
• Taylor Rental

Thursday — Allegan Farmers Market

Thursday will be the final Allegan Farmers Market of the 2026 season.

I’ll be there from 8 AM–2 PM for one last market-day sharpening opportunity before the market takes its winter break.

After Thursday, the farmers market season will be finished for 2026, but Rusty’s Edges Sharpening will still be sharpening! The pickup locations will continue to be an easy way to get your knives, scissors, garden tools and other cutting tools to me.

I’ll tag the pickup locations below so you can find the one that’s most convenient for you.

Thanks to everyone who has supported Rusty’s Edges Sharpening at the farmers markets this year. It’s been a good season, and I’ve enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces—and meeting plenty of new ones.

Tomorrow is Central Park Market day!

I’ll be at Central Park Market, the local grocer in Holland, from 11 AM–2 PM with Rusty’s Edges Sharpening.

If you’ve been putting off getting those dull knives, scissors, garden tools, or other cutting tools sharpened, tomorrow is a great time to take care of them.

Bring your sharpening with you, drop it off, do your grocery shopping, and if I’m not too busy, I’ll do my best to get it finished while you shop.

The picture shows exactly what to look for when you arrive—the Rusty’s Edges Sharpening canopy and my van. Come on by, say hello, and let me take care of the sharp part!

But here's your final reminder for Douglas in 2026!
Next Tuesday is the FINAL Douglas Farmers Market of the season.
I'll be at Beery Field from 10 AM–2 PM with Rusty's Edges Sharpening.
If you've been putting off getting those kitchen knives, scissors, garden tools, pruning tools, or other cutting tools sharpened, this is your last Douglas market opportunity of the year.
Bring them with you, drop them off, walk the market, and if I'm not too busy, I'll do my best to get them finished while you shop.
And even if you don't have anything to sharpen, stop by and say hello. I'd like to finish the Douglas season with a good one!

Saturday is Central Park Market day!

I’ll be at Central Park Market, the local grocer, from 11:00 AM–2:00.

The weather forecast is looking a little threatening, but that’s not going to keep me away. I’ll have my canopy set up to help keep customers out of the rain, and I can do the sharpening work from my van.

So bring those dull knives, scissors, garden tools, or whatever else you've been meaning to get sharpened. Drop them off, do your shopping, and I’ll take care of the sharp part.

Of course, there is one exception: lightning. If we get thunderstorms in the immediate area, we’ll move to a safer location until things settle down. No sharpening job is worth standing around under a thunderstorm!

Rain or shine, I’ll do my best to be there Saturday from 11–2.

But if you’ve been meaning to get those dull knives, scissors, garden tools, or other cutting tools taken care of, consider this your friendly reminder.

Tomorrow I’ll be at the Allegan Farmers Market from 8:00 AM–2:00. It’s a great time of year to come out to the market, do a little shopping, enjoy some good food, and support the local farmers and small businesses that keep the market going. And while you’re there, drop off your sharpening with me. If I’m not too busy, I’ll do my best to get it finished while you shop.

The weather is looking good, so come on out and enjoy the market. Bring something dull with you—I’ll take care of the sharp part!
