Congratulations to Darmayne Robertson and Will Robertson, co-owners of Sweet Confections Cakes, on being named the SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania Veteran-Owned Small Business Persons of the Year. Located in Harrisburg, PA, Sweet Confections Cakes has grown from a home-based operation into a thriving scratch bakery known for its creative, custom-designed cakes for weddings and special celebrations. Both Darmayne and Will proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard, and their journey from military service to entrepreneurship reflects decades of dedication, craftsmanship, and commitment.

Together, Darmayne and Will bring complementary skills to the business, offering not only specialty cakes but also a wide variety of baked goods and event experiences. With the support of the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center, the PASBDC Agriculture Center of Excellence via the Penn State SBDC, and SBA-backed resources, they successfully expanded into their current location and enhanced their offerings with an on-site event space for gatherings and celebrations. Sweet Confections Cakes was nominated for this honor by Rachael Wolfe and Mark Rentschler of the Kutztown University SBDC, along with Martin Brill of the Penn State SBDC and PASBDC Agriculture Center of Excellence, and recognized for its creativity, resilience, and lasting impact during National Small Business Week.
