I’ll be visiting THE Aunt Eva next week, and I just can’t wait to bake up a storm with her! Be sure to order extra to tide you over. View the menu and place your order at https://aunt-evas-sourdough-kitchen.square.site

I don’t have eggs on the website for ordering because I never know for sure how many eggs I’ll have in a given week - I have a couple chickens who have been laying their eggs in a secret spot that I haven’t been able to find, and I have 1 chicken who apparently likes to lay her eggs from the roosting bar, so sometimes they break when they land on the coop floor. Just message me if you want some eggs.

The chaos machines were having such a relaxing evening! I just love the cute little brrrt-brrrt sounds they make when they’re content! Please note the wonky bread schedule for October and plan accordingly. Don’t forget that freezing and reheating sourdough bread makes it more starch resistant (lowering the glycemic index) and more gut friendly, so next week you can double up your order and freeze some bread for the following week when I’m visiting Aunt Eva in Seattle.

The next month is a little wonky since I’ll be out of town here and there. Make sure you get your orders in by 10:00 pm this Wednesday for Saturday pick up, as I won’t be taking orders next week! Https://aunt-evas-sourdough-kitchen.square.site

On today’s episode of TRHWG, the Sapphire Jewel (the white chicken) is trying to steal the favorite laying spot of the Buckeye (the brown chicken), and the Buckeye is MAD. Here’s the thing - neither one of them should be laying their eggs there! They have a beautiful coop with lovely, comfy nesting boxes! Come see how the drama unfolds (and buy some bread while you’re at it 😁).

(The last photo is of my naughty chickens roosting in the tree with the neighbor’s chicken instead of going into their coop at night!)

What I learned this week: I am no longer a spring chicken, and I should not try to move furniture by myself! I’m not completely laid out, but I definitely can’t do all the standing and heavy lifting that is required when preparing for a market. It’s frustrating because I know that it’s going to be such a fun morning in Sunbury! I’m hoping that I’ll be healed in time for the Polaris market this Wednesday.
