While I’m on the west coast I played around with making homemade sourdough handheld pies. These have a cherry & raspberry filling. A few look a little more *handmade* than others, but we’ll just call them artisanal! They were fun to make and I might make some to have at the farm stand this Saturday. I’ve been having a great time on my east coast/west coast trip! My sister’s cat wanted to make sure we didn’t leave without him, we walked on the Gnome Trail, and my cousin requested Cinnamon Swirl Sandwich Bread.

I’m headed to the east coast and then to the west coast this week, and I’m so glad to be spending time with Aunt Eva for a few days! I’ll be squeezing in some bread baking and research, so I’ll be sure to post pictures.

This is my newest simple pleasure - I went to the Canal Wi******er Makers Market a couple weeks ago with my daughters and discovered these delightful simple syrups. I wish you could smell my kitchen right now! I’ve toasted the walnuts and I’m folding it into the dough along with tart cranberries. I put the Cranberry Walnut Sourdough on the menu this month as a little Mother’s Day gift to myself - I adore making sandwiches with this bread and Costco’s Cape Cod chicken salad or one of Chicken Salad Chick’s fruity chicken salads. Delicious!
