Glazed Sourdough donuts, recipe courtesy
Deep fried in a beef tallow/coconut oil blend. Thank you, for educating us on what good fats are.
I don’t think we’ll ever go to a bakery to get donuts again!

It might not look very pretty, but let me tell you, it tastes amazing!
I’ve been experimenting with replacing my organic raw sugar with organic blonde coconut sugar in my baked goods. They say it has a lower glycemic index. Since it’s been birthday season in our house for the past month, my cakes have been the first experimentation. And it does not disappoint! Excited to switch the sugar in my cookies next.

Deep breath in, long exhale out…
And we’re back! I’ve been on a bit of a baking break this last 1 1/2 months due to moving to a new city. My starter has been in the fridge for awhile, but after a few feedings, we’re back in action! These will be the first loaves baked in the new house. I expect some trials and errors due to now having to get used to an electric oven and new ambient temperatures and humidity in this wonderful home. I can’t wait!

I’m excited for this new adventure in our lives as we work toward our dreams! Cheers to new beginnings!!

Look toward Jesus in all things:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3: 5-6

We have been called to be imitators of Christ. By being an example of Christ to others, how are you living out God’s calling?

3 good habits to focus on daily:

1. Joy: If you cannot rejoice, then begin reading the Word of God and calling on God to put joy in your heart. He will do it.

2. Prayer: Pray regularly and to be constantly in the attitude of prayer.

3. Thankfulness- “Give thanks” in all circumstances, not just once a year, but all the time.

These three habits have been called the standing orders of the church. They represent the will of God for us.

New on the menu: Browned butter sourdough discard chocolate chunk cookies! 🤩 These are, hands down, the best discard chocolate chunk cookies I have tasted (we had to sample a couple)!

Made with the discard from my very own mature starter, and high quality, organic ingredients.
This is what sets me apart. Every ingredient I put it my baked goods has to meet some pretty strict criteria. Call me an ingredient snob, but I promise you, you’ll be able to taste the difference!

“So then, encourage one another and build each other up, as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ISV)

John Chrysostom, one of the early fathers in church history, made this observation in a sermon on Hebrews 3: "Do you see how everywhere Paul puts the health of the community into the hands of each individual?"

How relevant this is, though it was written some 1,600 years ago! According to Paul, we all have a part to play in the nurturing and growing of the spiritual lives of those who are following Christ alongside of us.

We are called to...

“Serve one another in love” (Galatians 5:13)

“Be at peace with each other” (Mark 9:50)

“Live in harmony with one another” (Romans 12:16)

“Submit to one another” (Ephesians 5:21)

“Be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2)

“Forgive… one another” (Colossians 3:13)

“Teach and admonish one another” (Colossians 3:16)

“Confess your sins to each other” (James 5:16).

In short, we are to love one another, a command you’ll find again and again throughout the entire Bible.

We live together in this way because we live together in Christ. All is upheld by grace.- The Anchor Devotional
