Sometimes the best business decisions are the ones you never planned to make.

We may not be the ones directly responsible for safety on the jobsite each day, but we are invested in every project from the first meeting to the final walkthrough. That includes making sure everyone onsite goes home safely at the end of the day.

The team at GreenBench has been working with The Michaels Organization across their military housing portfolio as their Independent Construction Consultant, providing development and construction management oversight on projects at bases across the country. Fort Belvoir is one of several big ones either underway or about to break ground, and seeing this milestone hit is a great reminder of why this work matters.

Congrats to the entire TMO team and everyone involved in making Young Village at Fort Belvoir a reality! Lots more to come.

Celebrating women is easy. Building an environment where women can lead and grow in the industry takes real systems.

Here are a few actions we’re committed to at Greenbench that make a measurable difference:

💼 Define roles, competencies, and what “ready for the next step” looks like.

🤝 Pair early- and mid-career talent with leaders who can advocate for new opportunities.

🚧 Proper PPE sizing, clean restrooms, and clear reporting channels should be non-negotiable.

🦺 Rotate who leads owner meetings, client updates, and site walks so visibility and trust are earned through repetition, not titles.

🎖️ Support certifications, training, and cross-functional exposure that builds long-term careers.

The wait is over! Teso Life, the Japanese department store, is now open in Centreville, VA, bringing aisles of Asian snacks, beauty, and home goods to NoVA.

This is the brand’s first Virginia location, and GreenBench served as construction manager for the tenant fit-out, delivering the space from design approvals through build and closeout.

Paws on the ground, because doors are officially open at Livewell Animal Hospital at Modera Falls Church!

Opened in late December, this tenant fit-out project included:

🐾 Reviewing/approving tenant design
🐾 Managing tenant construction
🐾 Tracking landlord work interfaces
🐾 Overseeing TI payments and closeout documentation

As we reflect during the last month of the year, we are reminded of our continued gratitude towards our clients, partners, and internal team. We wouldn’t be GreenBench without the relationships we’ve built over the years.

A few successful principles that we live by and will carry into the new year:

📊 Set clear expectations early. Graphics and visual aids help everyone see the same plan.

🗓️ Protect the schedule. Align permitting expectations upfront and tie pre-planning to key milestones.

📒 Standardize to move faster. Our shared permitting playbooks by jurisdiction kept teams coordinated and responsive.

We look forward to maintaining existing ties and forging new ones in 2026. Here’s to building smarter, serving better, and starting strong in the new year.
